I read somewhere that you ideally want atleast 5k lumens per plant... is this accurate? because this light puts out 50k... so I might want to get a 600w instead.. but then I have to REALLY deal with the ventilation problem and keeping the temp under control.

It's not per plant it's per sqft. 2k lumens seems to be the absolute minimum and over 5k is optimal (up to 7-7,5k iirc)

No no. People are watching. You are running a nice, compact grow log. Lack of comments usually means you have it dialed in. It's when you are facing problems or if you are doing something obviously wrong that you will get feedback. Just keep plugging away. You can look at the thread view count tog gauge how my eyeballs are on you. Peace.

I hate looking at the thread count because it pisses me off, especially when I ask a question and I see 50 new people looking at my thread and nobody has said a thing lol...
well then it will prolly work out fine with what i had read anywhats... a 5 gallon bucket takes up about a square foot
what a kawinkidink! ok...so its appearently going to be like high 70;s low 80's for the most of the week so I am thinking that my girls are going to get some quality time out on the window seal! SUN BATHE BITCHES! Here they were today soakin up some good sun! I am going to have them under the sun as much as possible because they are still trying to stretch a lil...so untill I get my new light I am going to pull them outside as much as possible. I am still running the lights 24/0 when I get my mh i will more than likely switch to 18/6 or 20/4 I am not sure quite yet which one I should do.
sorry about the pic, I didnt resize it this time since it was only one.Brennan Huff: I smoked pot with Johnny Hopkins.

By putting them outside you invite pests into your room. Plus you run the risk of damaging them during the move to and from. It is a sure fire vector for all kinds of headaches. I suggest leaving them alone.

alrighty. I will leave them in. I didnt even think about that, I figured that since its soooooooooooooo incredibly dry and the sun is pretty pure out here it would be good for them

A lot of people do it and a lot of people get bugs in the their room. Given the nice sun you have available I can see why you might want to go that route. Just giving you something to think about. Usually it is more headache than it is worth.

Lord I'd love even a half hour of your beautiful sunshine lol.
I read through virtually all the current working logs every day but rarely comment as I'm just a beginner and would hate to put someone wrong. So I stick with admiring, learning and sometimes commiserating.
Keep up your great log

haha thanks. I will post some pics later, its my roomates bday so we are going to celebrate tonight... so im sure there willb e some drunk blogging..I found that I can still get them in the sunshine withough having them outside. the same room that has that window ledge I can put them inside and still give them 6-10 hours of sunlight... I would have to move them over 1 time to get them the full 10 but I think I will just wait untill I get my precious(light) in.

The question is, if you can grow them outside with that sun then why not do that? You could simply veg them inside and then move them outside to flower. Just a thought. Knowing nothing about your situation I realize this is likely not possible.
