The white bits in the soil are perlite, a form of volcanic rock that both promotes drainage but also holds water. The nutes are fine particulate in the soil. Best to just start with something fresh.

January 10,2011 transplanted from party cup to medium sized pot(one you see in pics). May be time to transplant again soon. Sorry didn't start the log from day 1 =(..never thought of that.
