marijuana for a migraine

hey, I got my first migraine today. And it was brutal, i was wondering if anybody here gets them and smokes weed to help.

If so, does it help? and how does it help.

I'm gona try and I'll tell you guys what happens. It's gone now, but there is a chance I'll get another 1 - 3 more in the next day or so....

I got migraines for a 2 week period and no matter how much i smoked it only took the edge off and replaced the pain with a dull throbing headache.

I've been getting migraines since I was a little-ass kid, and had always taken prescriptions for em... up until about a year ago, I started using weed for the migraines and it helps immensely. I guess it's just on a person-by-person basis.

it doesn't really do the job. Sometimes you just forget that you are having the migrane, but then it comes back much worse if you have a sudden change of lights or something

How about deal with it. No sence in wasting your day because of pain right?

You don't just deal with migraines man. I used to have migraines as well. That's some serious pain. Feels like it's 100 times worse then your normal headache. But yea, sometimes when I have a headache I'll smoke a bowl or two and it goes away. In a way I guess it just puts my mind on other things besides the headache, but it definately helps.

a lot of people that come to us for medicinal marijuana prescription use cannabis specifically for migranes.. the thing is, you have to learn which type of cannabis (indica or sativa) helps best for your migranes, and then you will find certain strains that work much better than others. for example, Haze is a great sativa, mostly used for chronic pain because it's mostly a body high, it relaxes your body without giving you a strong head high (like indicas would).

p.s.
for some people it's the opposite, you have to try different strains and compare the effects.

yeah right man, dont be so ignorant. I was laying on my bed almost crying (im 18 male) the pain was so bad.

lol, I probably experienced what could be construed as a migrane when i poured tequila in my can of beer. yes...i'm a dumbass.
