Hiatt concedes that the group has continued to raise money. He says that's because it plans to file a new pot-legalization initiative next week.

He adds that Sensible Washington is registered with the IRS and the state Public Disclosure Commission, if not with the Secretary of State (Sarich's filing aside). "We have the common law trademark. If he wants to fight about it in court, we'll fight about it."

But Hiatt himself does not seem so inclined, portraying registration with the Secretary of State as meaningless--unlike another stunt foisted upon him last year, when someone laid claim to the attorney's website.

In other words, as Ben Livingston of the Cannabis Defense Coalition says, Sarich's shenanigan "seems like more of a funny '**** you' than anything else."

O.K.... WTF? Is Hiatt not concerned because steve actually does own the movement in Wa. state.. I think i believe Hiatt has mislead someone here.. Cause it sure don't look like steve lied.. with the above article... seems someone claimed check mate !!

Cannacare.com is not taken(well maybe it is now, but it wasn't last week). Sarich's website is cannacare.org


The company you are looking at is based in California, not Washington. All Sarich's stuff is in Washington AFAIK.

I own stock in one of those companies, so what? I think I might have made a great investment in a penny stock, WOOHOO!

I think Hiatt just isn't interested in entering into the Peyton Place world of Steve Sarich. And I'm sure Steve has a lot more money than Doug does. He has trouble getting any of the big money from NORML or some of the other supposedly MMJ movement organizations because he isn't interested in drafting up intiatives that allow these same outfits to capitalize on the market. He just wants it made legal so we can end the stupidity.

Like many others in the community Doug Hiatt has his detractors and supporters. I tend to see overall holistically, he's got the right think in his heart and mind. And he just may not agree with someone else's interpretation of the laws.

Me I've always gone by and stood by the laws were unconstitutional in the first place, regardless of what a court, any court may say. Frankly, that's my right to be civilly disobedient, even if the consequence may result in incarceration or worse. And, I've taken nearly all they have dished out so far. Wore me down, but I'm still standing the same line!!!

I think Hiatt just isn't interested in entering into the Peyton Place world of Steve Sarich. And I'm sure Steve has a lot more money than Doug does.
