Do plants still smell in veg?
I was just curious because I think I am noticing a smell from my plant (bubba kush) ..from seed. I am not sure if it is male or female yet
. (It is in week 5 of veg)
I just thought it was interesting because I never read anything about this; is it normal? good sign? bad sign? sign of male? sign of female? just something some or all plants do?
Umm... throw any info my way. Just curious and interested :jointsmile:poker2 Reviewed by poker2 on . Do plants still smell in veg? well its not a sign of male or female. some plants will put off some odor while in the veg state. When in flowering the plant produces oils that can cause for a stronger aroma. I could be wrong but thats what im assuming. My HOGS BREATH has a deep aroma when i put my face in her unlike the purple makido that just has a plant type of smell.

@RAINHAZE
This is my first time seeing a MJ plant :thumbsup:
I was thinking of making this plant "a mother plant" but I am not sure if it is male or female?so I am not sure yet if it is going to be flowered.... but if it is male then I will just end up flowering it and take whatever I get because it's my first try at ever doing it :jointsmile: I will maybe get femm seeds in the future..better idea?
I'm so excited and yet scared of whats to come odor wise in the future :wtf: lol
@camoxnhx
They release oils? I never knew that.. cool! But I actualy enjoy getting that little whiffff of nice aroma

Hey poker2,
Do you have a jewelers loupe, or a magnifying glass? If not, its a good time to look for one, preferably with a built in light. Search all you can about sex identification.
I'm not familiar with your strain, but I believe your getting near the time to be able to sex 'em.
How tall is your plant ?

The bud is still smokable just not as much thc but as long as it gets me high I am not too worried.. but would still prefer FEMALE! :jointsmile:
To what you're saying: I ordered a 30-100x scope magnifying glass about a month ago!!! and still did not recieve it(from online). Emailed them, they said sorry it's New Years Rush and they said they would send another one. Still did not get itbut they said they would refund my money. Emailed them again a week ago!! still waiting for a reply
.. was ebay but looking like I won't be getting it from these weird people. Maybe I should go to a store and pick one up instead?
I have 6 CFL's on them 23w = 100w equivalent.
About 2" away

Male flowers only produce pollen. A male plant will have to pollenate a female to produce seeds (Unless its a hermie of coarse) And maybe im just misreading haha.
Also Radio Shack has nice little cheap microscopes for around 13 bucks that work great for the price.:thumbsup:
