Hi, from New Jersey (Sick of being sick!)
Actually - part of the problem is Docs.

You see, so far none of my doctors will even nibble on the idea, despite the idea it has been working a effectively for years on various symptoms of all those problems.
The abdominal pain is fairly recent (within the past 6 months), and am now in the stage of attempting to locate a good pain management doctor. In the mean time I seem to be basically stuck! Primary doc wants to pass it of on them because he seems to not want to Rx anything more for pain - BUT in the mean time it hurts sooooo bad at times forget even getting out of bed if I don't do something - So for now basically I have 8 15mg Morphine pills left, and then nothing at all for pain via Rx anyway, he has made it perfectly clear he dose not want to Rx anything more for pain, but the most resent Pain Management place I am trying to get an app0ointment with is telling me it will take about 2-3 week AFTER they receive all the hospital and doctor records relating to the pancreas.
And the fact is I don't really expect it to help much - I already saw two others and they want to do a procedure I don't think is a good idea at all (although I would definitely solve the pain problem permanently) - They seem to want to destroy the nerve going to the pancreas. Problem with that is the same nerve also goes to the Gal bladder, Liver, and Stomach. Also on a daily basis it's not that bad (Well as long as I have some weed anyway).. Sometimes yes I still seem to need a good strong opiate on top of it - but only about 2-3 times a week (without the weed I am SURE I would use the opiates way more often and in much higher doses). So for that I don't think it wise to destroy that nerve.
Also, insurance seems to get in the way as well (but I am getting to the point just pay out of my pocket if I have to). Unfortunately I am disabled, and while I do some side work sometimes - I can not work on a steady/regular basis. Now I do because of being declared disabled with low income, the insurance I am dealing with is Medicare as Primary, Medicaid as Secondary. BUT even to just pay a Doc myself is proving to be a challenge (I mean besides how to do that). Most seem to take the Medicare with no problem, but Medicaid is a problem - and even telling them I will pay the 20% myself (Medicare typically pays 80% of doctor bills) they have a problem because - I have been told, the main reason they don't want to accept the Medicaid is because of there rules, NOT money, and if I have it, they must follow Medicaids rules, even if Medicaid dose not pay them! This is leading me to possibly want to get rid of it. But, for now trying to wait until at least the end of April on that (yes there is a reason, but this post is long now.).
So that's more of the story, I guess the main thing is either convince my current doctors, or find another one. Specialists I definitely could use are Pain Management, Gastroenteritis, Optometrist, Neurologist.
As far as my primary doctor goes - I have been thinking he is not really the right one for me anyway - BUT must watch what hospital if that is changed. I did give most a chance - and it seems like every time I use any hospital other than Valley, they ALWAYS screw SOMETHING up. So, especially if it requires more than just the ER, it's not happening anywhere else.
