Casselman's Last Night 1-12-2011
ANyone else go up there last night?
I got there a little late, so I missed Reid, Chipi, and the other plaintiff speak. I did hear from another person what they spoke about. Hopefully all of you are aware of the case that she filed with the state supreme court. Anyways they spoke about her case and how it relates directly to amendment 20 and 1284s complete disregard for the constitution. They expected to be turned down, so are already preparing for district court.
The other plaintiff, who is an attorney, spoke about her bout with cancer. She was throwing up 40 times a day. She needed access to mmj asap, but everyplace around her was banned. She had an immediate medical need for it. Once she got it, she stopped throwing up. She began medicating when she had cancer and stopped after it had gone into remission. She is a great plaintiff for the dispensary ban and denying access to medicine.
They had 2 panels of attorneys. They basically talked about a few cases they had going. Then they talked about marketing themselves. Corry was there on his soapbox doing his rants.
Our good friend Timmy Tipton was there talking about the caregiver's cup during his shameless promotion of himself. He did admit that he was arrested for possession in Wyoming recently while driving to Washington to give someone medicine. According to him, he was just fined. He talked like a drunken buffoon.
One interesting story was from a security system retailer. One of his clients was out smoking a cig at their grow facility. They saw that a transformer was smoking on the pole. Upon further inspection, they noticed A SMALL CAMERA ON THE POLE POINTED RIGHT AT THEIR GROW OP!!!
Moving on about the panel. They did talk about the need to band together. The possibility of class action lawsuits. The formation of the cannabis trade council and their need for volunteers. They also cheerleaded the 2012 re-legalization project.
One thing I took away is the importance to talk to your state reps, city council, etc IN PERSON. Personal stories are FAR more valuable than cookie cutter letters. The panel agreed on this. One attorney worked for a US Congressman for years. He said the personal testimonies carry a lot of weight.
They had a small Q&A session. One guy brought up approaching the farming communities for industrial hemp. Kurt Riggin was there and asked them about going after the judges for medical malpractice. According to him, interfering with a doctor/patient relationship is malpractice. I have met and spoken with him before for quite some time. I like his ideas on action. I left after that.
Turnout was a little over 50 people. A lot of regulars. One thing to add is educating YOU THE PATIENTS on what do you. Go out and talk to your reps.canaguy27 Reviewed by canaguy27 on .
