I have found the seed in the soil to work the best by far. I can hit 100% germination everytime with the soil.

The problem with germination is often mistated as the 'technique used.'

The real success in germination lies not in the method...

But in the SELECTION of the seed.

The seeds that don't germinate in soil are the seeds that won't germinate in the paper towels.

Why transplant from paper into soil when you could just do it in the soil to begin with????

Take your potential seeds and press them on a hard surface quite firmly. Do NOT be afraid to bust them...if they bust, they are weak anyhow and shouldnt be planted to begin with. Dare them to crack and crumble.

Press HARD on the seed and it if stands up to the test, drop it in 1/4 inch soil, fill hole loosely with soil and water completley the entire container.

Place it in dark so it doesn't dry out, and in 3 - 7 days, you will germinate nearly 100% of your seeds....EVERY TIME!

Trust me on this.

My problem is growing em, but damn, I can germinate them EVERYSINGLE TIME.

If the weed has or has had fungus on it, this will not be the case. Fungus will kill a seed and the seed may not 'crack' under the test. This is the ONLY exception I have ever found to the hard press test.
