cool tube not turning on????
Hi there,
just got my 600w cooltube set and, wired the cables to the ballast, and turned it on but I only hear a clicking sound from the ballast and a little green light coming from inside the ballast (not a indicator), where the cable comes from the light to the ballast. So after few clicks I've turned the electric off. is there something special I shoud know?
Using:
- Sunmaster 600w dual specturm Lamp
- mEgas Na600 Ballast

The manufacturer might have a wiring diagram online. Make sure it's wired properly and the bulb is firmly screwed in.
Have you opened the ballast to make sure all connections look ok? If opening it invalidates the warranty, then leave it closed and contact the manufacturer. And if you've already oipened it, you might want to keep your hands away from the little metal tube-looking thing. (2 inches in diameter, a few inches long) It's the capacitor, and packs a deadly whallop. If not careful around it's terminals, you could kill yourself.
Does the little green light come with an odor of burning insulation...?

I'm totally agreeing with RT here. I would contact the manufacturer and have them fix it. It isn't worth your life to try and mess with it unless you have experience with that sort of thing.
In the meantime, if you are currently growing get some CFL's on those plants to keep them happy until you get your light fixed.
Best of luck to you and your lighting issue.
