    Moldy Disappointment

I had been storing some sticky greens that I purchased a little over a month ago, in a tightly sealed prescrip pill bottle. I had stored pot in such a thing in the past, and it usually dried out if left for a while. To ensure this didn't happen to this type of herb, I placed the baggy it came in on top of the pot in the container. Not thinking of moisture in an air-tight containment and the possibilities of mold, as does a piece of bread in an early childhood science experiment, I left it in a drawer for awhile. I had another type of herb that I was smoking, and a month and 1/2 goes by I decided I would check on the stored green to make sure it was still nice. To my disgust, when I removed the baggy from the top, and pulled the pot out of the container, I felt a fuzzy mold residue on my fingers. The more I examined the pot, the more I realized that it had gotten moldy. I am quite disappointed, and I would hate to think that I would have to throw this green in the trash. The mold mainly consisted of a light green color, and a few black areas of mold which looked like soot or ashes when on my skin. The herb was still extremely moist, and when I went to smell if its aroma still existed, I smelt an ammonia-like scent. Quite unpleasant actually, my nose stings as though i've inhaled the actual chemical. When this occurs, is smoking it ever possible? Are there any health-related problems associated with smoking moldy herb? Is there a possibility of infection from different strains? Please let me know, for now I am just going to let it dry out and then we'll see. ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN OFFER ME IS GREATLY APPRECIATED...... FROM ONE BUDLOVER TO ANOTHER, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?!?!

Never made my own hash, have no clue how to. Is it complicated to do? What would happen to the mold all over the green if I did make it into hash? It would be such a shame for this herb to go to waste. Any info you can offer me is great, thanks!

if it was a dry mold or fungus, you could've salvaged some of it,but you say that it's wet and blackend and smell's of ammonia?then it's highly unlikely that any of the "THC" is left on it,next time make sure that it's cured a little more thoroughly before you seal it up....bonbon
