    Soc Security System

I just found out today why seniors are pissed off at the Social Security System. To even get where you can choose to speak to an agent, you have to listen to the same computer voice as Microsoft uses with a bunch of bullshit. The last thing it does is send you to an agent or give you that choice. The computer voice can't distinguish between "D" and "B" when you are asked to give your name. What every happened to actually taking to a human. I wanna fucking scream..............no wonder nothing get done the way it should.

And to top it all off, if I want to continue in English, I have to press a fucking number. Why not to continue in another language press a fucking number? We have fucking idiots running the show, so its really not surprising its so fucked up. I'm pissed and smokin'!!!!!!!!! :wtf:

I hate dealing with a fucking computer voice.

Just to make my point, I set up a bank account online with all the security features offered in 1/4 the time or less then it took to get to Soc Sec. When I went to change my direct deposit information I couldn't do it without going through Soc Sec. Now, after a frustrating couple of hours I got it changed. But, private industry checked me out faster and approved my application with less bullshit then Soc Security. Wait until you have to go through it.

gypski, as a government worker I will tell you that any time you get the government bureaucracy involved in anything it degrades the efficiency 100%. That's why I laugh when folks go on about how the government should do this or the government should do that. If they knew how completely FUBAR the government really was, they wouldn't want them involved in anything more that bare essentials.

That said, at least you used to be able to be frustrated by a human civil service worker instead of a machine. Much more personal that way, still shitty service though . . . :S2:

Its really not the workers, its the managers. They, the managers, are all yes people to the one's above them, and the ass kissers get the supervisor jobs. Inefficiency is a management problem, not a worker problem. And whoever bought that bullshit Microsoft system needs to switch to a Mac system.

In most instances this is dead on. There are a lot of workers that use the system and don't do shit as well though.

Management structure is horrible. It is filled with folks who won't "rock the boat" and agree with anything coming from above. There are few new and good ideas that can breed in that kind of environment. Combine that with the top heavy, nepotism filled upper tier of management in Washington DC that has no practical experience with whatever they are in charge of and it's no wonder the biggest enemy is our selves.

Ridiculous internal procedures make getting the actual mission accomplished really difficult and as a result morale in the ranks is pitiful in my Department (and many other departments as well from all I've heard).

I've said it before. I never thought I'd experience anything more FUBAR than the military, but it runs like a Swiss made watch compared to the Federal Government. :wtf:

I have to agree that a lot of appointments to head federal agencies are put there because those who put them there know they will fuck it up and they will cover for them. That's what they want so they can keep saying it needs to be gutted. Gutting it needs, but not the way those bastards want to gut it. Cut the waste at the top and middle management levels with the appointee fuck ups is the first place to start.

Yeah, we went wrong somewhere. Some years back I bought a 9mm and filled out all paperwork. Sometime after that I went to open a savings acct at Global CC. They required more identification/paperwork that they did at the gunshop.
Also, it's bad enough that you have to press a number for English. What's worse is when you have to listen to a message in Spanish before even being given the option to press '1' for English. Gotta laugh it off or it eats ya up.
    Enjoy the day all.

Read a humorous series by Harry Harrison called the Stainless Steel Rat. In one of the books, aliens trying to disable the space navy of earth kidnapped all the Navy brass . . . and ended up improving the efficiency of the Navy 100%.

Same thing applies to the Federal Government. [attachment=o262770]

I recently applied for Soc Sec Disability. I applied Oct1, 2010 and got approved Jan 2011. I got my first check in Feb 2011 (this month). During every phase I was treated professionally and courteously. I would have been approved faster but the VA sat on my medical records for a month after they were requested by Soc. Sec. I went by and physically picked them up and mailed them in.

Sorry you guys didn't fare as well.
