How will this turn out?
I know this is asked all of the time, but could someone experienced tell me how this will turn out, I'm on my first grow. My setup goes as follows, I have a closet lined in Mylar that is 4 1/2' x 2 1/2' x 8', in the closet are 3 10 gallon totes set up for four plants each, using the bubbleponis (DWC) setup. I am using the General Hydroponics nutes, and I have a 4 ft. 4 bulb T5 HO light at the top, and 1 2 ft. single bulb T5 HO fixtures (4 total) on each side at the top of the totes. The 4 ft. T5's are 54 watts each and put out 5,000 lumens, and the 2 ft. ones are 32 watts and put off 2,500 lumens. All bulbs are 6500K right now, and I will switch to 3000K when flowering. All 12 plants are clones from my G13 Blueberry Gum plant, so all will be female. I'm aiming to get at least 2 oz. per plant... Is this realistic??? Thanks for any and all help you can offer.

sounds lyk a nice setup depending on how good the strain is and type of nuits there is no reason why you cant average 1-2oz per plant if given a good veg period the key to a good yeild is good veging

i'd be worried that you'll have plenty of light until they go 12/12 stretch
In order to have a good yeild using the light you have. I'd do a scrog
that way you have just the tops to cover with light instead of trying to getlight through the canopy. and for your bubblers I use 8' air stones lots of air making a mist of bubbles Light makes algee so keeping the roots 100% dark is a must.... Now for your 10 gallon totes are they plumbed for filling up and draining?, for instance when i grew in my homemade bubblers or other hydro systems I learned that I have to change the NUTES out alot clean and healthy Nutes I change them atleast twice a month maybe 3 times depending on the growth cycle and time per Life cycle of the plant including time to flush thats alot of water!!!!!!!! So plumbing is the first step.. Hoses on a cheap fountain pump will work to empty the tanks just fine for less than 30 bucks!
Get a long funnle to fill the tanks also cheap and reuseable
and speaking of water are you using tap or RO, Hydro really needs RO
i'd go to the store and get it for 50 cents a gallon Now it cost $1 buck a gallon you have 3 10g totes so youll need atleast 60 gallons a month min for a 2 time/nute change, and if you dont want to look like the thristyest guy in the town I'd go get a $200 hundred dollar RO set up... General Hydroponics nutes are set up for RO water speaking of general hyrdoponics nutes do the lucas blend of nutes/ has the micro nutes also
o' I remeber hydro now its a pain in the ass!!! Costs too much money for me But I grew that way for years Bubblers, ebbnflo, areos, DWC, Dip n slpash
hell no more for me JUST STICK EM DIRT cheap and easy :smokin: IMO of course..

Ok, thanks for all of the help, to answer a few questions, I have the 4 ft. 4 bulb above the plants, and I have the 2 ft. fixtures toward the bottom on all sides, so I think I should have good lighting, even when I go to flower, and probably won't need to SCROG. When I open the closet it's like looking into the sun!!! I'm using 2 5" air stones in each tank, so I'm getting a lot of bubbles and think I'm good there also. As far as water goes, I've just been using PH'd Tap water with the 3 part general hydroponics Flora nutes. at this point I've got extra totes, so when it's time to change water (which I do every Friday) I just pull the top off and put on an empty container, I then empty the old water, clean out the tank, and then replace with new PH'd, nute mixed water, and then put the top back on the original container. I know it seems like a lot of work, but things are growing well, and I'm kinda financially exhausted at this point until harvest time. I'm looking to try to veg the plants up to 24" and then switch over to flowering, at this point my babies are about six inches... what would be the best time to "pinch"? again thanks for the help.

:thumbsup:which works better? I'm looking to start flowering when they reach the 24" mark, give or take an inch. I want to make sure to maximize my harvest, so I'd like to get them flowered to about 48" and bushy as all get out... So I guess what you're saying is I should "pinch" in one way or the other about a week out from the flowering switch, but which one is the best way. Keep in mind although I've consumed a truckload of bud, this is my first grow, and I just want to get everything the best I can for what I'm working with. Thanks again.

So after looking at this and giving it some thought, since you're probably several grows my superior... I was thinking about switching up my method. Let me ask your honest opinion, and pick your brain a little. If I were to have a 96"x48"x78" grow tent/dark room, and two 1000 watt parabolic switchable HPS/MH lights, and I grew 10 plants per side of the tent, with 9 weeks veg. in soil. Would it be possible to pull 4 oz. dried per plant??? If this is possible, what would be your suggestions as far as good soil, nutes, temp. etc. Again thanks for your input, it is very much appreciated.
