    Group Death anti-mmj?

    Hi folks,

So for about two years now I have had chronic back and neck pain resulting from what my neurologist classified as chronic menegitis, which in lay terms is a seperating of the menenges or lining of the brain from the brain itself. As I understand it the chronic back and neck pain would be a qualifier to become a mmj patient. They were prescribing be me oxy which i never once refilled as it made me rather noxious, and i elected to use mj as I had previously used it sporadically recreationally and it seemed it might be a viable option. I made my doctors (neurologist and primary care) aware of my use of it and asked if an mmj authorization was an option. Both of them immediately said no in an "end of discussion" fashion without any sort of discussion. I go to group health "death" for all of my medical care.

I guess my question is if anyone else has had issues with them or know of any anti mmj policies they have?

The most entertaining part of all of this to me is that I have grown it for years primarily for my spouses enjoyment and I am actually not very fond of consuming mj in any fashion, but it does seem to help more than any of the meds they had given me.

You need to understand these poor doctors are caught between the proverbial rock and the hard place. For them to recommend something that is against their licensing agency (their federal drug license) and they can loose their drug license.

Find one of the clinics that specialize. Not sure if it is a qualifying condition.

Read the law, if its chronic and does not respond to accepted treatment, you qualify. Fuck everybody qualifies if the whole truth be know without a doctors authorization. Give us back our freedom of choice in medical care.

My niece worked at Group Death for 7 years and yes they will not authorize MMJ. Most all hospital clinics will not authorize MMJ, and the reason I've been told is because they do not want to risk losing there DEA registration.
My brother was butchered at Group Death 20 years ago. A ruptured disk operation that pretty much left him an invalid.

Group death by far is not my first choice for care, it just happens to be the only insurance we have available. I've had several issues with them as well, hell it took them a year to figure out that my spinal pressure was low and causing my partial blindness after they had done about 11 spinal taps which ultimately caused it to be lower than it was initially >.<

I am of the same opinion gypski, and I will most likely continue to medicate regardless of authorization or not, I do however prefer to be authorized as it would reduce my risk of atleast state prosecution.

I would really prefer to get authorized via my primary care group as it seems more defensible but if the boxdocs are the only option so be it.

I have lurked here for some time, and have heard Gypski praise Dr. Gil. I also have friends who have went to him, and all are extremely pleased. I plan on getting my next auth from him as well.
