Check out my baby and her growbox.

I think she looks and smells really healthy, so I'm really content with what it is, in light of the effort and money put in (which isn't a whole lot).
I'm going to start flowering her tomorrow.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

First of all the box looks great and the right setup for 1 plant but it looks a little over fed maybe it's drooping quite alot ? How often have u been feeding it and how much nutes if any ??

    Thanks man

It is possible that I might have over fed her. Thing is that the recommended nutebottle dosage was calculated for a huge barrel on the bottle, but I only have a little spritz container, which I put a couple of drops of nutes + water into. I have spritzed it over the soil every couple of days, so I might have over dosed it. I'm going to hold back on the nutes now, and see if the leaves go more horizontal.

But I also suspect it might just be how the plant likes to have its bottom leaves. The leaves are actually really rigid, and not flaccid and dangly, like I suspect they would be if the problem was over/under watering/feeding.

BTW I was visiting a friend the other day, and he had a hermaphrodite which was flowering, and it just occurred to me that I might have some pollen from that plant on my clothes or something. Is there a risk that I might pollinate my plant if I start flowering it now?

Good grow, it looks like an indica to me, but not sure. What's the strain? Oh and one more thing... GET THAT TIN FOIL OUT OF THERE!

I don't want to sound mean or anything but tin foil will crinkle and create hot spots that will fry your plant to death, also you need a fan.

With out a fan the plants stem will become weak and it will lump over when it buds. This is because wind acts as exercise to the plant. Also do you have it on a lighting schedule?

Go to my website, I will be posting documents soon, but subscribe to the blog for updates when I do post it.

It's feminized white widow. I know growers frown upon using tinfoil, but it isn't really causing any perceivable issues for me. I'll remove it if I start seeing anything brown on the plant. Or will it be too late then?

I'm adding a fan once it gets a lil bigger, and I'll move the setup into a real closet.

It's on 18/6 right now, but I'm changing it to 12/12 tomorrow.

Your box leaks a lot of light. If you're not worried about any security issues, then you're okay.

How far into veg. are you? Your plant seems a little small to start flowering.

Pertaining to nutrients, when in doubt, under feed.

Do you have a PH wand or a way of testing PH?

The box was originally light tight, but I had to tear holes in the tinfoil to allow air in and out, because it was getting really hot inside. 35 celsius/95 fahrenheit, which is too much, no? I'm trying to think of ways for air to come in and out without light leakage.

She's 2 weeks old now, and has gotten 18/6 for the last 8 days more or less. I'm worried she'll get too big. How much would she grow if I start flowering her right now?

You're right about nutes. I think I did the beginner mistake of getting too enthusiastic with nutes. I'll give her a couple more days between feeding.

That reminds me. How dry should the soil be, before I should water? Should it feel dry? I am keeping it always a little moist, and I'm wondering if it's better for it to dry up just a little before watering.

Unfortunately I don't. The soil bag states 6.5, which I recall being the optimum ph. Don't know how reliable that number is though. But my plant's doing good, and not showing any symptoms of bad ph, as far as I can tell.

KIMJONGIL here is the thing...the foil is only reflecting heat and you said 35 celsius/95 fahrenheit and thats HOT!! What if you get rid of the foil, would all the light escape?

You want to get that fan on them sooner than later..it will make the stems stronger for when they have to suport the buds later. Just a slight breeze, just eough till it starts a little wiggle

If you're not supplementing CO2, then 95 is wayyyy to hot. You wanna aim for around 75-85. Go on eBay and buy some PC (2) fans. They're easy to hardwire and they only cost pennies. If you're worried about her getting big, then you're right to worry. It's gonna get big. Only certain strains veg small and flower small. White widow is not one of them.

You have to wait for her to mature, before you can flower. I think, approximately, the earliest you could flower is 6 weeks. Then put her on a 12/12 light schedule.

Your PH WILL FLUCTUATE. You need a way of measuring PH. The the reason you measure PH daily... yes daily, is because you are trying to catch any problems before they occur. Measuring PH is a preventative step that you take to ensure alllllll of that hard work pays off. Often, if you don't measure PH you catch the problem too late.

You also need a way of measuring the humidity. Walmart/Lowes, they have cheap hygrometers.

I do DWC Hydroponics. So I'm not fond of soil grows. But I did do alot of reading before I started growing to determine what kind of grow I wanted to do. I think I remember reading that when growing in soil, general rule of thumb is water when the pots feel "light".
