    Once upon a time

I heard about making a concentrate using isopropyl alcohol, 90% version. That is what I use to clean my smoking implements so I know it does a good job, probably the best job of dissolving the good stuff.

My drying screens are in need of cleaning :stoned:, gee ummmm, well why waste it, right?

So what I remember of this method was you dissolved the active ingredients in the alcohol and let it evaporate...the alcohol, and you are left with just the active ingredients. I am assuming the alcohol is completely volatile. Then you scrape the stuff up.

Then, how do you use it? Can it be used in cooking? Does it have to be smoked? Is it as active as smoking? Does the raw product need to be heated to activate it for edible purposes?

Please don't use isopropyl. Even if it does say 90%, it really isn't worth it to mess with that stuff. It isn't food-grade ethanol and who knows what residues it could leave behind. Not to mention it comes in a non-food-grade cheap plastic bottle, probably from China. While cheap liquor is occasionally sold in plastic bottles, they use a special plastic to minimize the leeching of toxins into the liquor that is going to be ingested. Because isopropyl isn't intended to be ingested, the plastic bottles it is sold in are probably cheap and the isopropyl probably pulls in a lot of toxins. Just spend the extra five or ten dollars and buy a bottle of Everclear or some type of 180 proof vodka. Using isopropyl is an awfully big risk to take over a few measly dollars. You can't put a price on your health and peace of mind anyway.

The easiest way to make a concentrate using ethanol is: http://boards.cannabis.com/concentra...-combined.html

Just make green dragon and then allow all the alcohol to evaporate. Then scrape what is left behind on the glass and you will have a thick sticky oil that you can smoke, vape, or cook with.

Actually I did a batch of the green dragon yesterday. Tastes awful, but does work. It takes 2.5 hours to hit me tho. Had to supplement with smoking.

But I did it using the 151 to dissolve the resin off the drying racks after heating them. The 151 got so much resin I had to use fresh to get it all cleaned, then cooked it down.
