Just finished construction of this light fixture and ballast. :jointsmile:
It is a 100w HPS and two 27w Daylight CFL's. This light is going to be for a 2' x 2' area.
What do you think?
Should it be sufficient for a four square foot vegging area? (I couldn't find a reasonably priced MH ballast, so that's why the HPS.)
I gladly welcome any criticism and questions too. :hippy:
Now I'm off to enjoy a celebratory bowl and relax. :smokin:
The cfl's in the photo are warm white not the daylight that will be in there. I need to get some more daylight bulbs.tikiroom Reviewed by tikiroom on . You should be alright to veg...I would maybe throw a little more light for a flowering area though. Very nice though...:thumbsup:

[align=left]Good job tikiroom. :thumbsup:
I just thought you could make a fully cowered reflector for HPS first than add cfls to the sides. I mean the bulbs will not see each others. Just one more wing longer reflector?

Hey tevfik,
What is a cowered reflector?
Haven't heard that before, it makes me think of a reflector that is terrified of me. :S2:

Sorry about the language, I mean closed from the sides of the bulbs. So all the light will be reflected to down separately from each bulb.

Oh yeah I thought about that, but decided to keep it a little more simple.
Just easier to build this way and less cuts.
Thanks for the insight. :thumbsup:

Looks good anyway. I always liked this kind of fixtures over my gypsy styles

154w on a sq foot is good amount. Can be enough even for flower i think.
