    nitrogen deficiency help!

I have had two plants in a room with a 250 watt hps light on 12/12 for about 4 weeks now. one plants larger leaves are starting to yellow and fall off and the upper stems of the leaves are turning a slight dark purple. sounds like a nitrogen deficiency to me. This is my second grow and I had encountered the same problem last time but never treated it and ended up with a small amount of mold on the buds. I am using shultz concentrated fertilizer 10-15-10. should i be using something different during the flowering stage? Any advice?

    nitrogen deficiency help!

for good advice fill out the troubleshooting form. Purpling if not in the phenotype, can mean too cold. BUT the troubleshooting form is facts that we can work from as I just guessed above. The form in my sig is for soil, if you are hydro use the hydro form.

Copy-n-paste the troubleshooting form here, and answer it to the best of your ability. Pictures would likely help, too.

But mild to moderate yellowing is normal during flower. But if leaves are falling off, (not a good thing) there might be a few different causes, one of which may or may not be from nitrogen or the Schultz. Very doubtful it's the nitrogen though. The Schultz has a ton of it.

How long have they been in the same pot?

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)
-newbie (successfully flowered two plants prior to these)

    Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. (MH, HPS, CFL's, tube fluorescents, LED's)
    -250 watt hps
    .2) Distance from tops?
    -about a foot
.3) Reflector type? (cool tube set-up, bat wing, enclosed reflector, bare bulb...)
-reflector over the top of the bulb
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply?
-constant fan running but in a closet that is shut once the light turns off (opened when the light is on)
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan?
    -just a normal rotating fan
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule?
    -12/12 250 watt
    Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...)
    -shultz potting soil plus

    -8inches by 8inches
.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings? -no

    Your nutrients and water:

    11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
    12) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...) -do not have a ph stick to test
    13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. -daily fertilizer added to their water 10-15-10
    14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering? -everyday, about a cup of water or more as needed
    15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...)- no
    16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
    17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
    18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray? -no

    nitrogen deficiency help!

These plants are not even 5 weeks into 12/12. Is your leaves more yellow than these? This is normal for hybrid indica's.

As long as the buds are growing?...I don't sweat the fan leaves being sucked dry of nitrogen.....but, watch the little buds leaves, closely.

to share as well as show the picture of the extra little fans on the leaf, since the nitrogen problem is pretty much in the past.

I didn't look that closely at that pic before. Wow that is a 13 bladed fan leaf. How many fan leaves are like that?
