Are you breaking the rock wool away from the plant? This will never do my friend. Those blocks are designed to stay with the plant till death. If they dont work for your grow style, then find another method of cloning that does not use those blocks. I use coco, some people dirt, others just water to clone in. It's not hard. Many people find a simple solution in something called Rapid Rooter Plugs. It's a small 3 foot long tray of plastic that holds something like 25 plugs of something, what I cant think of....like a sponge.

    "WTF...smoke some more "self."

At any rate, in addition to the tray you want a plastic cover or dome that is also available and a heating mat. That's it...stick your cuttings into the tray, water every couple days and 2 weeks later you got clones ready to plant. The plugs, like the blocks, will stay with the plant, but it's small enough that it shouldn't bother you in whatever grow method you use. This method would then have you pull the plug out of the tray and then plop the entire thing into your grow system. No root tear needed as everything is separated.

Just in case your friend is a moron: you aren't trying to grow more then one plant in a block are you? If that's the case then stop that behavior right now.

thanks but the clones my buddy takes he dosent separate he just gives them in those grow plug slabs...so because the roots grew into the other plugs and sorta had to be ripped apart .. how long would it take for them to repair or heal themselves if even at all possible or are my clones fucked its been 6 days and there just kinda sitting there....by the way my growing method is aeroponics nutes and ph in check for the most part ......or am i just tripping i should have seen new growth right ..all help is greatly appreciated

So, he's just getting the slabs of rockwool and not separating the individual cubes to put into a tray to root them? :wtf:

How's he getting that to work for him????

Aeroponics huh? I know nothing about aero, so I'm sure I cant be much help. Your certain that your sprayers are hitting the bottom of the rockwool plug and keeping it sufficiently moist to promote root growth? Were there already roots sticking out of the plugs?

I know a lot of lazy growers who clone with whole slabs of 50 or 98 cubes at once and the roots get all tangled and matted.

I've not observed any seriously stunted development after breaking them up for planting, although I'd imagine its a potential risk. If anything, try getting the clones earlier, before the roots are so tangled. Separate the cubes, and keep them in a cloning tray and humidity dome until the roots are where you want them.

could it be that your friend has the slab of cubes upside down ?the solid joined together part is the top...use a clean pair of scissors to cut this and any roots that are intertwined at the bottom...the cubed part.don't have ur light to close to these babies ur they will be stunted .

stunted clones - do you mean they fell over? Is your humidity not high enough? You could take a clear plastic cup or box and sit it on top of your clones. If needed, give them a mist of water only. Do that for a couple days and they will be standing tall once again.
