New to cloning-please help!!
Hi all. Wonder if someone with some experiance on cloning and hydroponics can help me. Basically i got a 6pot iws system with a 600hps flowering room. I want to be harvesting every 8-9 wks which i undersand is possible if u take clones. Ive been growing for about 6yrs now an using hydroponics for about 3 but ive alwaya just bought new seeds for ecery grow. Total waste of money i know. Anyway my question is... Once ive taken some cuttings an put them in rockwool cubes under my flurescent, how can i keep them going for another 8-9 weeks until my flowering room is harvested without having to buy another hydro system?so i guess i mean what will happen to the rootz in the cubes if i dont put them into my hydro system for a couple months?just trying to avoid having to spend out on another hydro setup. But if i have to ihave to. Or am i just being stupid. Can someone shed some light on this for me please be much appreciated.

Take your cuttings as you normally would just try and leave stem a lil long. Put cuttings into a ziplock bag and put into crisper drawer of your refridgerator. Take the bag out once or twice a week and open bag for a few seconds (10 or so) to do an air exchange. Clones can be kept in this stasis mode for 7 weeks that I know of (longest I tried) and still root. Hope this helps, it helped us till we got a lil more room.

Thanks alot tinytoon. Never heard of that before. So are u talking about putting the whole cutting in an air tight bag (cube an all)?do they not wilt an look dead?keeping loads of clones in my fridge without them getting damaged will be a miracle too. Thanks For the quick reply though

Well, something tiny suggested is of course possible....and I have done it, but just generally used that method for transporting a cutting. If you want to produce clones, you will have to take a clone and turn it into a mother. The mother and the clones will need 18 hrs of light. If you have a mother you can take cuttings from her. You can then figure 2 wks after cutting you will have roots, and perhaps another 4 weeks under the lights at 18 hrs, you should be ready to put them into flowering.

No not cube and all, just clone. Cut clone from plant and put in bag. This method will keep you going in the case you dont have the resources for a mother plant. Mother plants are no doubt the best way to go but are NOT a needed item to have continuous growing. About 2-3 weeks before harvest start your clones, they should be ready and able after you harvest. I grew like that for a year before I could do a mother so it is a proven alternative.
You do NOT have to have a mother to do clones!

thanks very much for ya help guys much appreciated.definately gonna give the stasis thing a try as i aint got room for a mother.makes perfect sense.tinytoon do u reckon once i root my clones,i need to veg them in the flowering room for say a week to let them establish a bit or is it safe to flower them from clone?and if i do will it impact on total yield that much?

You would prob want to veg for a week to give the clones a chance to remember how to grow and then should be fine. Sometimes stasis adds a few days to the rooting time so if they dont pop roots as fast as a fresh clone but they will pop

Nice one. What about yield wise. Does flowering from clone drastically reduce it or is it not too bad?
