Youtube video baffles me on my tincture recipes

I'm a little confused about making tincture now.
I have made Green Dragon many times. I have also just put plant material in jars with everclear for 8 days to a month for similar albeit slower tinctures.

But after watching this video on youtube:

I am wondering why I have to put the material in the everclear for a month when this person says its ready in a few minutes.

The video is talking about Simpson Oil, that is different than Green Dragon
or the stuff you put in jars for weeks that never works.
Simpson oil strips the plant of the Trichomes and oils, with alcohol, then you cook off the alcohol,
leaving you with Simpson Oil.
With the real Green Dragon you chop up the canibus and cook it, in alcohol releasing
the THC from the leaves and buds, sending it into the alcohol.
After cooking it down you get your tincture.

the everclear dissolves the oils in just a minute or two.....the longer you soak the more wax and other junk dissolves.... a quick rinse yields a honey colored oil [pure resin] with increasing soak time comes progressively darker extract [impurities ]

This is definitely not true. Maybe some folks are not using good buds. My friend uses afghan goo and does leave it for months. He strains out the buds and repeats the process with fresh buds. Just 1 or 2 ml of his tincture will get you very high in less than 5 minutes. I am not sure about the time discrepancy that seventhchild describes. The tincture is stronger than what most folks describe but does taste very nasty. It does however always work.

If it was that simple then the tincture that everyone makes would be just as strong as my friends. I have not tried Master Wu's Green Dragon recipe but I plan to give this a try. The description of the effects of Green Dragon very much mirror the effects of the doule long soak tincture.

Information is good so I am more than willing to give Green Dragon a try. If I have some buds to spare I will give the quick tincture that comes from just a minute or two of soaking. I do not have access to Ever Clear or Clear Spring in my state but I can get 151 proof rum. I have some of the tincture now so I will update this thread when I have tried one of the other methods.

i should not have used the words "junk" and"impurities" as those words imply worthlessness ,,,,,the materials removed from the bud by a longer soak and/or by using a different solvents [rum] or extraction methods are used as medicine also ....depends on your goal
