    Nodes growing out then die?

Well she looks better in this 5 gal bucket, its something i grew a plant in last summer and did well, but solen So before it was re potted, because of the late re pot it ran outta water and killed a lot of leaves, but she looks much better. This is never going to happen again as my tent is on my porch, hell yeah:thumbsup:Oh and this is 6 days after re pot into 5 gal.

But, the title of the thread was wrong, my bad. What im talking about is the spurs coming from the main stems and dying off? I saw this when the plant was re vegged outside so of course im worried. I have spent to much cash on this sweet heart to let her die or funk up and hermy. This thing has been through hell, but just keeps growing. Has anyone seen this, or has any ideas of what might be happening here? You can see this best in the second pic.

Also iv got the same sorta bud growth going on. It looks like the sites are so close, they will just grow together to give me big colas, but outside the growth just never finished. This is what im worried about now. If anyone has any ideas, i would as always appreciate it? Of course maybe the growth did not finish outside, because it was infected by some virus, but im getting the same type of growth

Feeding 1 tbsp grow........Earth Juice line
    2 tbsp bloom
    Meta-K 1/2 tsp
    Friday Fossil Fuel Reg Feeding

This will be second week in 12/12

    Thanks again for any input:rasta:

    Nodes growing out then die?

Yeah it only a temp set up to flower this plant and retire the space. My tent is here so all others will go into the tent till this plant it finished. I had some problems and needed to re pot the plant so im thinking this plant has been in 12/12 for 2 weeks. The bud growth concerns me, but if it keeps this up more then two more weeks il whack it down. I have nursed it back to health with lots of time and energy so i hope she works herself out.

Not sure if ya all have had NL, but its one of my favorite's, great pain relief:thumbsup:

But still wondering about the dying small spurs growing from the main stems? If its going to not let the plant bud up, then i just need to move the lights into my tent. My outdoor is gone, well iv been picking in some trim bags i have, lol. Helps, but i want this plant to bud up for me big time. If it does grow into big colas, il tie her to the walls and ceiling to keep them up, if the bud growth will connect. Because there are a ton of sites on the plant.

    Thanks for any input:rasta:

Don't worry, just ensure you've got adequate airflow around the plant. Make sure you've got enough aeration for your soil and keep up with what you're doing, everything is looking okay and well recovering.

Also, I highly suggest neem - spidermites over here got immune to the hot shot no pest strips. FIVE in a single 2x3x4.5 mom closet and still had them until I neemed the whole thing.

Great man:thumbsup:i have a fan on her that blows right on her, but its not whipping it around. Its small and does the job. We got perlite mixed well in there as im not used to growing in such large pots. So drainage was important to me from go:thumbsup:

Yep i do need neem for sure. I had got that other product that really helped with the mites and that strip should have already taken down, its not even active as its been there a couple months. But ever thing going into my tent will have neem on them, dont want to bring them up here, i have not seen any at all yet, but will be diligent always from now on to look for them on every plant.

Still wondering about the dead spurs on the main stems?

    Thanks bro:rasta:

    Nodes growing out then die?

So i have this pic that shows the dead growth, which only appears on the main stems. I posted this question, because the growth that is dying off i dont think are pistils:wtf:leave growth maybe, not sure. But its only on the main stems and other growth is growing well and new pistils are coming out like crazy.

Anyone have any ideas that might be causing this as the plant went through a lot, but doing well now. Any thoughts, i would sure appreciate:thumbsup:

    Booted:wtf:

    Thanks:rasta:

Looks like flowers that are dead there,..... My mothers will do that, the calyx of the flower will swell up, then die off after a while. :wtf: If this was happening in vege I'd call it normal...... I wouldn't be too worried about it unless it continues with the lights at 12/12.

Thanks for those last couple posts,... really helped clear up the question in my head.

Thanks for looking in Canni:thumbsup:so im wondering if it might be the age of the plant. This was a clone from that re vegged plant that got the fungus. But this clone was taken before i had issues with the plant. But it was taken from a plant that makes this clone over a year old or so. Its only on the main stems, which is fine as new pistils are popping out every place and are healthy. New if these die il be pissed, but she's looking nice now. Im just glad someone has seen these before and did not cause problems.

I will try to get pics of her with buds beginning to growing:hippy:

    Thanks again Canni:rasta:

Ok. Since this is getting nowhere, (I was hoping someone had a quick idea, b'cuz I have no clue) how about filling-out the troubleshooting form, and see if we can notice anything, or connect the dots...?

To me, it appears like something is either blocking the transfer of nutrients to the petiole's, something is going up-n-down the stem chomping at the petiole base (are leaves missing or munched, or do they just fade away?) or the plant has a disease that come with the plant.

Is the base of the petiole have the normal splay where it attaches to the stalk, or has it been munched? Are the attach points on the nodes themselves a 'normal' color, or are there viens of discoloration travelling up or down the stalk?

Would help to know if you added or subtracted any nutrient or additive up to two weeks or so fefore the leaves started jumping-ship.

Did you change or alter the soils between transplants?

Does this happen to every stalk, or is it 'branch-specific'?

How many generations of this particular plant has this clone seen? Perhaps it's just 'tuckerd-out'.

Tiz about all I can think of without going over schedules and growroom conditions. Hopefully, it's not something that can travel from one plant to the next.

This info was all in October, but bold is in the last couple months.

There is no sign of mites now, no bad leaves or munch marks. Used SNS-217
and alchol for large bunches. Also two no pest strips, but the SNS-217 is what i believe really killed off the mites and there eggs, good stuff and it was free.

There is no munching at this time. There are viens running up the main stems only, but this plants mother grew this way and this was before any sickness of mother plant. So it seemed like a normal thing with this plant.

I am using Earth Jucie Grow, Bloom, Meta-K and every Friday or Saturday I give one gallon of Fossil Fuel. Mother plant grow this way, but clone was taken before any issues started at least i think. The soil is same brand, i like it ok, just needed to add perlite, but getting a different soil for Purples, which are filling up their cups now so soon they will be re potted soon with FF.

Its only happening on the main stems, the other growth is great with none of the new pistils affected. This is the only clone that made it. So it would be over a year old. And yeah, i was thinking it might be age or hoping maybe.

This is the only plant in the grow area and after its finished everything will be grown in my tent.

    Nodes growing out then die?

Just a couple things I noticed...

I use humic acid once a month as an additive. I tried using it weekly, but plants stunted and root growth was greatly accelerated, (rootbound issues started showing) so I use it only after my monthly flush.

Potassium sulfate (Meta-K) can build-up and can potentially alter (raise) ph if overdone. What hapepns if you don't use the Meta-K?

At what point do the leaves start falling off? Early growth phase, late growth phase, at the start of flowering...?

Do you flush...? If so, how often and how much?

What do the roots smell like?

Are your nutrients over a year old?

Dirt? Dirt is what you clean from under your fingernails. I'm guessing you meant soil...? (you're not using ANY dirt from your fields, are you) :wtf:

If it is a disease, cloning won't help. I would strip my additives, and go with the basics only.
Why the two different nutrients manufacturers? Try just one, as they may be interracting negatively with each other. At least this way, you can see if maybe it's something you're adding. But if it hasn't been affecting other plants and strains, doubtful that's it.

During the winter, I feed set ammounts (quantities) weekly, and water to slight runoff inbetween if necessary. That way I can look at the plant(s) on the next feeding day, and know how much or how little of the nutrient mix to add that week.
