OK, I understand why people would hate nukes. The fact is, they exist. It's unrealistic to expect any power to freely give its nukes away, thereby weakening itself compared to its rivals. The reason the US continuallly is improving ALL military tech, including nukes, is to stay ahead of the competition. If war happens, you want your side to win. And I would argue that the nukes dropped on Japan would have saved more lives in the long run. This is considering the Japanese warrior code of no surrender, die with honor, etc... most Japanese would have fought to the death. Japans entire landscape would have been devastated. Both countries and many others would have had to endure a long and brutal war.

Oh, and CortezBuddha, you should do some research on how effective communists have been in the past. Not good. Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao. Communism makes it very easy for one crazy leader to fulfill his evil ambitions. How would you like to be TOLD where to work. Yeah, you take freedom for granted right now. Why don't you go move to China, and then try posting up on message boards there how you are supporting thier opposition. Might find yourself being tortured. Communism is good on paper, but on closer examination, it's pretty fucking stupid.

Hey guys I'm new here thought I would give my take.

I guess you don't understand the real world so let me try to help you. Everyone wants power. If I layed down 10,000 dollars would you pick it up? Ofcourse you would. Money = power. you also want power.

Also the world is a bad place. People kill people. In terrible ways. Weapons are neccesary. Weapons are equalizers. i am sure you guys don;t want it to go back to survival of the fittest. You guys would lose.

Any Americans here that do not like our weapons? Please feel free to move to a place with no weapons. I mean if you don;t like how we have never been overrun then I can't argue with you.

Why should the United States stop Nuclear weapons development? You americans want to be nuked? Other countries are all doing the same development. Except ofcourse China who just steals our designs and copys them.

Grow up please. If you don;t like America and think it is shitty..why do you live here?
