Weak buds

My last two-plant grow was done under a 120w triband LED with a little CFL supplement in a 2*2 scrog.

Yields and appearance were good. Taste and potency sucked. Grew with generic nutes in a passive hydro system (similar to hempy bucket). Strain was Nirvana NL * Big Bud.

I want a small amount of kick-ass bud. Can't go much higher wattage on the light due to heat and space constraints.

Is it more likely genetics or amount/spectrum of light that I need to change?

Almost sounds like a drying/curing problem to me.

That brings up a good question. How was it dried? On the stalk? Did you wait longer than suggested harvest date by weeks longer?

if it was a big potency problem, change strains. start w/nothing less than the best genetics to make everything easier and more worthwhile!

did you wait long enough? were the trichs ready?
