Another big reason is that you represent many groups. Your age group, your gender, your occupation, your education level, etc. etc. Issues come up that affect one group or another. If any politician ever got wind that a particular group was mis-represented by the voting public because of apathy, can you imagine how that group's wants and needs would be totally ignored? It is your duty to be ready to hold politicians to the causes that are important to their home constituents and make them fear the consequences of mis or under representing you.
I could go on... but these are two big reasons to vote. I hope I have convinced you to exercise this right in the next election.
