What does "Homegrown" mean to you?

I have been around for several decades now and have realized that the word "homegrown" has gradually shifted its meaning from something negatyive to extict to a good word presently... My question to everyone is what do you think when hearing the word used?
And yes I am truly dedicated to the sport 24/7!:jointsmile:

Yea. When i started burning the all mighty herb,I only herd the word used in BAD terms like as if it was garbage herb.Now it has seemed to turn into a GOOD term...I guess it depends on who you are.If im growing "HOMEGROWN""its gonna be GOOD HOMEGROWN..LOL well,thats the plan at least.

Ha ha....I was wondering if I was the only old hippy to see this. Yea, HG used to mean total crap weed in the old days, now some of the best stuff out there is homegrown....guess we got better at growing it, eh?:stoned:

But it's all grown in somebody's "home" turf...personally I think the transformation of the meaning of HG is a good thing...:jointsmile:

Another old fart here. The days of piss poor HG were the same days of $15/oz Mexican and if you had the bread, $25/oz Columbian. Wish to hell I knew then about growing that I do now.......I'd be retired!!

When I stated smoking back in 1990, homegrown meant crap weed grown in someones back yard. I would occasionally hear "Yeah, this is some pretty good homegrown, for being homegrown, that is". Now it obviously denotes quality.

I think that, as others have said we are getting better at growing it and looking at it from an analytical, scientific light. I think that the biggest reason for the change is the prevailing attitude of smaller producers make better products such as micro-brews, local orgaincs, and many other products. I think this trend of liking the HG is an ultimate reflection of the more health concious attitudes of people these days.

Of course it helps that I can personally tend 30 plants and give them each individualized attention whereas I couldn't with a larger grow.

I see we have a wide range of community members.....for me folks I just can't get over the feeling of insult by hearing the term HG...maybe I am just a dirty ol' bastard who can't change his ways....

I think that 2 hits of some of this "home grown" White Widow I have been enjoying lately would totally change your viewpoint on this. It certainly did me!
As a matter of fact, I have become a sort of a snob lately when it comes to smoke... I want to know its bloodline before I smoke it! :stoned:

I dont doubt it....even when I smoke some of the finest herbs describing them as homegrown makes my belly flip.....lol
