Your plant will follow the sun, all by itself. There may be some small benefit to keeping the dirt warm, but it is't worth the work.

I have a seedling in a little styrofoam cup and sometimes I will tilt the cup towards the sun so it will get direct light. If I put the cup flat, parts of the soil won't be getting light.
