Please have patience, I'm just an ignorant redneck from Northeast Texas. Diagnosed with chronic kidney stones 6 years ago. I have passed 101 since 1994. Been to doctors all over and none of them have been able to figure it out. They all say that they guess I'm just one of the lucky one's who makes them. I'm tired of hurting like hell and oral pain killers have never really helped. Not to mention my liver probably looks like Swiss cheese. Would marijuana be a better alternative? Need help. Haven't been around it since my college rodeo days.

I would say MMJ is a much better alternative for pain management, especially if you have not been around mj in years.

The stuff these days is pretty damn potent compared to what you might have seen back in the day, so 1 or 2 puffs could do the trick for an hour or two, if its not some low quality mexican shwag.

I have suffered from the same thing for a while now, at least 15 years. First time was the worst caseu I didnt know what was happening. I changed my diet, exercized more and I still get them as well. but so do alot of people in my family.

They perscribed morphine drip and oxycotten, and a bunch of other crap, but I never filled those perscriptions casue I know what opiates do to people and the people around them. so in the begaing I just basicaly got a stick from out side and bit down and hoped it would only last 5 hours or so, but I did have to vist the er a couple times.

About 10 years ago I srted smoking when I got an attack, it helped alot, and now I found that using ibprofane also helps. and you can mix with cannabis. Ibeprofane for the swelling, and cannbis for the pain. One thing I do recomend is have ing alot of realy good meds around, and even better would be to have alot of pure extract . oil or bubble hash. Becaseu to combate pain that is that intense you will be smoking alot. I mean a oz a day, when your having an attack.
When under that kind of pain chemicals in the brain change and keep you from going into shock, and what I have notcied is right when the adrenalin kicks in the cannbis is very diluted and the high is almost completely not their, depending on how intense the pain is. but as long as I keep smoking about 2 or 3 grams a hour sometimes, or a couple (3-4 hits sometimes) hits of oil, then the pain is not realy their. It kind f numbs the pain a bit, more like preassure and not fetal possion pain.

Well I am out to lunch on that one. The pain of kidney stones is because the ureter is trying to work the stone down into the bladder and is using peristaltic action, just like the gut. It is muscle spasming of the ureter that causes the pain. Yep cannabis will reduce the spasming.....I am not so sure that is a good thing. The spasming is trying to get the stone out.

Not only that, they can do sonic destruction of the stones, even in the kidney before they get into the urinary tract. Find a better urologist dude, I would want the stones lithotripsied in the kidney before it gets into the ureter.

I did not find relief from renal calculi with cannabis, just maybe a better tolerance.

do not drink coke ever if yo have kidney stones. one of the things that help stop my attacks form happening so much was to stop drinking any soft drink. anything that dehydrates you quickly is not goo and in fact will keep and make the attacks worsen, that is a fact. and as far as spasming, cannabis does not stop the spasaming, caseu belive you me the pain is still theri, but it is dulled greatly, but like I said you have to continut to smoke alot, oz's have gone in a day .... a day and the whole time I was not high at all more immobilized, but if I was not smoking I would not only be immobilized but I would be curled up in a ball. like I said I have had this for a long time now, and more than half that time I did nothing but bear through it, now it is a complete differant story, knck on wood but i rarly get attacks that are so sever I have to go to the er, but 2 years ago or so i did happen, I had no meds and I had to call the ambulance to drag me off to the morphine room. But every time before and since then it has been much more mild and this is becaseu of the cannabis. the most importatn thing is to drink alot of water and move if you can the movement helps get those things out, I dont mean jump around but walk around the house (not far never know when 911 might be needed) or once I could not even walk but I stood and did funny dances and it passed in a few hours. lol I was dancing when ususaly I would be in the hospital. so for me cannabis is some what of a miracle in that way.

and on thing the morphine doesn nothing for at least ahour, and they also hav to keep upin the dose every 15 minutes or so. when you go in the only give you a little then watch you squirm around then about 15 mins they will give you more and so on after an hour the pain subsides but quickly comes back. Cannabis works in 2 minutes or less and stays working the entire time.
another thing after going to the er for one or 2 nights of morphine for the next week or 2 I am sick becaseu I had enough morphin in me to kill some people and then nothing no weing off just nothing go home. that feeling of sick crap is bad it is not like the flu it is like half dieing, cannabis does non of this just muchies days after nothing

and most of the pain is not the spaming but the tearing the ston is doing in the ureatha and the tube, these stones are not little round pebbles, they often look like jacks and sickles, so your peeing out a clusterd up bunch of needles not a grain of sand like they like to say. the pain comes from swelling from all this, so much swelling going on sometimes that it puts pressure on the spin and the lower back casuing even more ever pain. this pain is no joke I know people htat died becaeu the pain came on so severly and so sudden ly adrenalin had no chance to come into paly it was just cardiac areest and death. I nkow the first time it happend to me I didnt know what was happening and I thought I was shot, but I saw no blood, and when I tried to get up my legs did not work I had to fight to get everything moving to get me out of the area I was in, then asses that I wasnt shot, I was heavely dehydrated not had a drink in at least 20 hours and the entire time we were in movement running up to 10 miles in a hour sometimes so I had no idea what was happening to say any more would be breaking rules but when you dont know whats going on, and something like this happens belive me it can kill you. so know ing what is hapening greatly helps.

1. Severe pain in the side and back, below the ribs
2. Pain that spreads to the lower abdomen and groin
3. Pain on urination
4. Pink, red or brown urine
5. Nausea and vomiting
6. Persistent urge to urinate
7. Fever and chills if an infection is present

yup thats about right, and if kidney stones are persistant, you will be getting infections all the time, means antibiotics, and pain killers so twice the pills, going into kidneys that are already not up to par.

my opinoin herb and ibprofane, will keep the bad stuff away. including more pills, opiates, and, antibiotics will not be needed as much. Kepp the swelling down and concentrates for pain, and ususaly it is not to bad, well could always be better but being imoblized is one of the worst things for me.

dont forget to eat a little something when taking ibprphan, its hard on the stomach

Been away for a few weeks (now a 103 kidney stones). Thanks for all the input. Finally found a source for mmj and will try to pick some up in the next couple of days. I sure hope it works on the KS pain and also with the withdrawal from the Dr. prescribed pain meds. I want away from them so bad. Thanks everyone.
