Howdy Mr. Mary Jane,

All of your questions,can probably be answered, at the overgrow.com faq section. After ya read up a little bit,you should ask more specific questions based on your particular situation..we all want you to succeed ! Unless yer a kid livin at home..in that case..you need to read up on guerilla growing.

Whether you're planting in a pot,or directly into the ground,a good soil recipe..works wonders on providing what yer plants need,in the way of nutrition. You should try and use nothing less than a 4 gallon pot,5 gallon is best..I like to start my seeds in a 16-20 oz plastic cup,opaque,and with drain holes in the bottom..when it looks like it's almost root-bound..then you can transplant into the big pot,and they will take off,in terms of growth.

Chemical fertilizers,can be harsh and un-forgiving,organic ferts are much more gentle and forgiving..however,if you use any manures,that are in dry form,I suggest that you wear a dust mask and gloves,when handling them.
