a question about the males
OK, I don't feel like I am too awfully uninformed about the how-to's and the why's of the growing side of this, but I do have a question that I can't seem to find in any of the books, articles, dvds or other information available to the novice grower, so I am just going to throw it out here and see what you all say.
I am growing in a closet. I expect at least 3 of my first 5 plants to be male. Due to the high cost of seeds, I only have 10 to work with and I want to have at least one of my girls go to seed on this first round to provide insurance in case something terrible might happen and I have to start all over.
So, question one... will it work having one pollinated female in the closet during flowering along with the other, or will she rub off on the second female and cause her to also pollinate in some strange shaking off of the pollen sort of way, making it necessary to isolate the pollinated female? I am thinking that I will be OK with this as I have read about being able to pollinate single branches of a female and let the rest of the plant continue sinsemilla production but I wonder if I should isolate her for a while after pollination or spray her off after a period of time to remove excess pollen?
Question 2... I know to remove the males from the closet asap. My plan is to move one to another room, separated by 2 doorways in a small apartment and allow him to bud. When my female is ready, I will bring her to him for their, dare I say, coupling. My worry and what I can not find published is that just having the male budding in the other room is going to be enough to move the pollen into the closet and have him send both my girls into seed production. There is little to no air flow in this apartment, the heat is not forced air and being winter time, the windows are all sealed. Logic tells me that unless I bring the pollen to my isolated girl on my hands or clothing, she will remain safe in the closet.
What do you folks with more experience think of this?emilya Reviewed by emilya on . a question about the males OK, I don't feel like I am too awfully uninformed about the how-to's and the why's of the growing side of this, but I do have a question that I can't seem to find in any of the books, articles, dvds or other information available to the novice grower, so I am just going to throw it out here and see what you all say.
