Is this soil ok?
Here is what I am using for my dirt....
GREENHOUSE SELECT GROWING MEDIUM
PRO-MIX 'GSX' is a medium-weight, peat/bark-based growing medium designed for the cultivation of horticultural plants with subirrigation and automated watering systems. Its blend of Sphagnum peat moss, composted Spruce bark, and coarse perlite forms a porous growing medium which allows optimum water drainage and air exchange.
COMPONENTS: Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss (55-65%/vol.)
Composted Spruce Bark(25-35%/vol.)
Perlite - horticultural coarse grade
Dolomitic & Calcitic Limestone
Macronutrients
Micronutrients
Wetting Agent.
Does this sound like it will do ok? The nursery reccomends adding a little potting soil, which I did on some plants, but the resulting mix leaves kinda a hard crust on the surface when dry.
When I use this stuff straight, its lite, airy and very soft wet or dry.
Plants seem to do ok....
Any advice would be appreciated...
