Do not start feeding the plants till they're mature enough to handle the nutrients. Usually, after the third or fourth set of true leaves. At that point, give half-strength nutrients for a couple weeks, then go full strength. (always sneak-up on a maximum)

Most sativa dominates can't accept nutrients as readily as indica dominates, so keep in mind some adjustment will be necessary. I personally consider the website weekly feeding schedule to be a maximum dosage for indica dominates.

"About" doesn't cut it till you get to know the growing process, the plants, and the nutrients. To dial-in your nutrient needs, you'll need to be fairly exact with dilution rates, and quantities. Otherwise, you're going at it in a hit-or-miss fashion.

Since you are growing a few different strains, it makes 'dialing-in" a bitch. Sativa dominates will burn waaaaay before indica dominates.

Pick a nutrient day, and stick with it till harvest. The plants appreciate consistency.

To establish quantities per feeding, mix the nutes per website instructions, (let's say a gallon worth) and add slowly till you get a slight run-off. Measure the ammount remaining in the gallon. The missing quantity is your weekly feeding quantity per plant. Use this knowledge to figure-out how much you'll need to mix for ALL of the plants at the same time.

Don't mix a 5 gallon batch if you're only going to use 2 gallons per week...it will go bad as the chemicals interact.

With the Fox Farms trio, the Grow Big and the Tiger Bloom have all the necessary micronutrients the plant should need. The Big Bloom is a catalyst tea, (catalyst - a substance that initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction without itself being affected) and has no micronutrients. Big Bloom isn't really a stand-alone nutrient, as it's missing important compounds and nutrients and such.

Any nutrient can and will leave a salt residue. Fox Farms is no exception. I flush monthly to release these salts, preventing a build-up. (a slow flush with plain, properly ph'd water...one gallon of flush for every gallon of pot size) I flush once a month on a feeding day, and feed them after the flush. Watch your drip trays, and make sure they don't overfill.

Late in flower, I cut-back on the Big Bloom dramatically. (in half) at which point I start the molasses at 1 tsp per gallon per week. Molasses is a great source of carbohydrates, iron, magnesium and calcium. (replaces CalMag Plus)

Let the soil dry between waterings, and never water or flush the day before a feeding day. If necessary, and you need to water...I only give a quart for my 3 gallon pots, a quart and a half for 5 gallon pots. Just enough to keep them hydrated till their next feeding. Your soil may be different than mine, so be aware your needs may be slightly different.

My summer feeding schedule is a tad different, as I cut the nutrients in half, but I give 'em twice a week. Monday's and Thursday's. (in case you're in summer now)

Hope this helps...

Bingo!!What he said!!

So I have noticed that on the FF feeding schedule, on the organic side it explains to feed with every other watering, however it sais it under thge solubles sectionn...I am wondering if that is explaining to add solubles every other watering or to feed all nutrients with every other watering. On the other side for hydro side it sais feed with EVERY watering...ok, so im confused..The schedule goes by how much to add weekly ie: week 1; 2tsp Grow Big per gal. per week. So if I water every 3 days should I add 2tbs of Grow big in every other watering OR 1tbs for 2 waterings in that week?

Bkron420,

I found that is is alot easier to over do it than under do it. One important thing is your soil. Alot of soil has nutrients in it already which will make it even easier to burn your plants. Also the companies producing these products will want you to run out sooner so you have to buy more. The other important thing is consistancy and measurements. Plants love consistancy and there is a science to this so a Tbl and a Tsp is NOT a pinch and a dash, FF products are made to work togear.

Just a few things I wish i knew sooner than later, I used Big bloom and Tiger Bloom and had great results, I am setting up for round 2 and I will go get the Grow Big for "optimal results"

P.S. idk if rusty mentioned it but watering every day is not ideal. the roots will not reach down for water if it is never dry, A brief dry period will make for a nice strong root ball.
