    Phototron advice???

I'd put the silly thing on Ebay and sell it to a collector. Is it in good condition with the paperwork?

    Phototron advice???

do they still make phototrons?? mine was collected by the local sheriff's dept. :rastasmoke: I actually had really good luck with mine, you used to be able to mail your progress charts to San Diego for calibrated nutes. imp: I added some lights to the top and set up a natural co2 generater but was finally able to get some decent buddage out of it. its basically a cluster scrog set up, you have to get your plants to intertwine for best results.

but that was decades ago in a previous life. :stoned: I'm looking into T5's now a days. good luck.

    Phototron advice???

Phototron's are the best mother room on the market, allthough expensive if you buy it just for that. With the new units and more lumens came more succes.

Yes they still make them. You need to look up phototron dot com and order a start up kit. It comes with the sphagnum moss and the nutes to start. Also get a few extra bottles of nutes to go with it. This will all cost about 80 bucks. The start up kit comes with all paper work and instuctions on how to use. There is no need to send in info anymore as all were running CVC forumla 65.

Warning, these units are a closed system and no way to flush it out. So I would suggest only using phototron nutes. I have been running one for 20 years and have kept mothers alive for over 2 years and could take 20 to 100 clones at a time depending on how long the mother has been in there.

We are starting one up now we have fitted with a 90watt UFO in the top. After the mother get so big we take the tron apart and put it in the flower room. One massive producer. Maybe this time we will flower in the tron with the UFO and see how it does.

They are very fun to use and simple. They can be left for up to 3 days if you need to pop out for a weekend. If you have any other questions I'll be here.

Oh, if you don't have one with your tron pick up a dip stick tube to check the water level. It is the most important thing you need. If you use R/O or distilled water there is no need for a PH meter. Nutes buffer the water to the perfect PH.

:greenthumb: yes, I was going to mention that, too, the auto dipstick pump system is a god send. just mix up a gallon jug of nutes, plug in the hose and let 'em suck in what they need. when you come home and find the jug is almost sucked dry in a day or two .. buds are coming your way, soon. :smokin:

thanks for the tip, I'll have to check out the newest version. T5 bulbs perhaps? imp:

I think throwing in a 90 watt UFO would make that unit the most expensive mother room EVER, lol.

How Good Are They & Can I Use em For Flowering??
3000k (red) for flower,6500k(blue) for veg. Is it okay?

If i try a combination of hps and fluro's. 30-70 or 60-40 percent or something. would be reducing heat as well as electricty not using all hps. and on the other hand I will try getting some good flowering light from the hps supplemented with fluro's. Or, Please give a good kind of information. Help me pleaseā?¦

Well, I haven't tried one yet but I would think you could bud with a T5 high output (HO) bulb setup. I've been reading about them, this might be another topic altogether but ... it turns out the 48" bulbs are actually quite a bit more efficient than the 24" bulbs (something along the order of 100 lumems per inch vs. 77). In other words, two 24" bulbs only produce about 77% of the the light of one 48" bulb.

So, I would think a "4x4" (four 48" HO bulbs) should give someone enuff umpph to flower with but I haven't tried it yet. I'm pretty sure others on here have. tons of great info in this forum, that is where I first learned about all this. good luck.
