Yes you do need to adjust the PH of your water during the flushing period.

A PH of 7.9 is quite high for tapwater, did you take the reading after the water had off gassed? My Ph drifts from around 7.2 to 6.8 depending on the time of year.

I only buy PH down, if I ever add too much, I just add water to raise the PH. Once you get used to mixing batches of water up, you can do it pretty much blindfolded.

do you mean gassed of by just left without a lid on ? In that case i hadnt but it had been sitting in the bottle for about 2 days. I checked online and the ph for my area is supposed to be between 7.9 and 8.1 so very hard water ! Next water i will adjust the ph, do you need to wear all the gas masks ns gloves nd stuff ? really dont like corrosive stuff. Cheers for the advice mr j :rasta:

Yeah, the PH can change a little over time. I get a .2 drop when I leave my water in a bucket for 24 hours.

I don't like using corrosive stuff either, I did use gloves at first but now I am just careful not to spill any and I always wash my hands straight after I have made a batch of water up.

What do you use to measure it out? I only need around 0.6ml to get 10L of water to 5.8, so I use 3ml plastic pipettes from the grow shop, they are cheap as fuck (about 20p) and last me about 6 months each. I also use these to measure out my nutes.

    probably
mostly phosphoric acid ---often used to clean concrete ,i buy mine at HOME DEPOT-----SLOWLY pour the PH down INTO 2 - 4 times the volume of distilled water .one quart becomes one gallon and is much less dangerous and also easier to measure .continue to avoid contact with skin anyway.
why is everybody so damn nice around here?

the PH up is most often used during mid to late flowering when many growers start increasing the PPM/EC of their flowering nutes. the acidic nature of most ferts causes the PH to drop to unacceptable levels that must be corrected to avoid lockout.

im using a 5ml syringe. lol i put a mill and a bit to 2 litres thinking ye that should do, ph of 2.8 !! i did it again and about 4 drops was enough for 2.3 litres of water and then added canna flush which took it down to 6.7 which i think is ok..have you used flush before ?

You shouldn't need to worry about ppm, seing as you are using one product line and hand watering. So long as you stick to the recommended dosages you'll be ok. I have a ppm meter, but only cos it was at a bargain price and I have only used it once.

BTW. I know that you don't have space for a seperate veg room. But I stumbled on an interesting thread when looking for ways to improve the speed of cloning. You can store clones (before you root them) in a moisture filled clippy bag in the fridge for months! This would mean you could take cuttings off your next set of plants and root them after you have harvested the plants you took the cuttings from, so you don't have to keep buying seeds.

Sounds interesting, would give it a go as im planning on vegging my plants for longer next time around. Is there a link you could send me for more details ? or is it literally a zip bap, clipping and a wet tissue ?

Got some copy cat bubble bags coming tomorrow for my trim, might make some nice hash. You done any ice hash yet with your trim ? Last time i tried to make hash it was pretty shit. probably get about a gram or two from my trim but they cost 27 quid so kinda evens its self out a bit !

Not made any yet, I have thought about it, but atm I seperate any leaves covered in trichomes as I trim and smoke that to stop me attacking my buds too early.

a PPM/EC meter is a very useful tool for all growers that add nutes to the water to have .most growers who use one do so to keep their nute mix at a consistent concentration .also,by measuring runoff from the pot, they are able to determine how the nutes are interacting within the medium they are using . recommended dosages from the label are just general guidelines and will probably do just fine, but Cannabis plants have a wide range of nute requirements which very not only by variety/pheno but is also affected by things like light levels, temps, and stress. a PPM/EC meter will help you to "tweak" the plants food to achieve maximum health and yield.they are also inexpensive .
