I'm talking about Liquorice grown in the deep, fertile, well drained soils under full sun and harvested for the roots and its extracts. The medicinal value of this legume, native to Europe and Asia, has helped it in finding a niche of its own in the medical sector.

Licorice is mainly used in preparing medicines for cough and to help in digestion. It is a key ingredient in ayurveda products that cure rheumatoid arthritis, coughs, and indigestions. Its use as a breathe freshner and as a potent cavity fighter makes it a dentist's friend. Licorice has also shown its effect in curing canker sores and Addison's disease. However the type of licorice extract used in each type of ayurveda products varies based on the presence of glycyrrhizin or lack of it.

    We love licorice as well.

It is important to note however, that if you eat too much it raises your blood pressure.

If you have blood pressures, please be aware./
