    Don't believe everything you read.
People like to blow smoke up each others asses.

Iā??ve stumbled across many difficulties, trial and error, and faulty information. With so much information out there, so many different opinions, it is quite troublesome. I can't even recall the number of copy & pasted material I've read over and over.
I really hate those non informative posters who like to speak out of their asses. They like to post irrelevant information, posts that have nothing to do with the subject matter. These people probably have no experience or very little, or they have failed repeatedly therefore wanting others to suffer the same fate.
These growers, for some reason feel that they should not share their knowledge but only hint at ideas, thus forcing n00bs to learn from the mistakes they make.

Because many growers have dedicated so much time and money on learning and perfecting a great growing technique, they don't like giving n00bs a learning curve. They become selfish, and many even turn into cash cropping whores.

Please ask them to cite where their information came from.

The best way to start is to start growing right now! No matter how many threads I've read and endless hours on google, I could not come to conclusions.

All my answers were self fulfilled through my own actions.
Save you self the trouble of browsing through endless debates and buy a book.

    Thanks!

    Which book do you recommend?

Also I don't know how to tell a plants sex and it seems that if start from a seed I might end up raising a male. Would I be better off starting with a clone?

When I joined I didn't introduce myself here, but I saw your post and wanted to welcome you! Especially after seeing the post that was made by someone who is obviously very pessimistic towards this forum. Those are the people who have always screwed up their grow because they just don't listen to experience they are "know it alls" who literally know jack shit. :twocents: Reminds me of someone that was banned recently from the forums ... please know that the people here will share and offer advice up the ying yang to any new grower. They don't want you to fail they want you to learn from their mistakes and be successful! Any time you see someone with zero experience get an amazing grow you feel so proud that you might have helped that come to pass.

FORGET a book for now. Use the YouTube links below in my signature and invest some time watching Mr. Green. Not only does he show how to build the perfect grow room but also takes you from start to finished product with so many gems of advice along the way. :smokin:

Don't let one disgruntled member discolor the other longtime members who know their dank!

I would suggest any basic botany textbook. When it comes down to it, we grow a WEED. All the advanced techniques and experiences are all good, but it is a weed. It will grow fairly easy. Quality and volume can be increased once you have the basics.

Thanks Lynhal. What I started to do is to read users older post before taking their advise on growing after bobhead's comments. This way I don't listen to everyone nor do I shut you guys out completely.

Now I'm looking into LED lighting & hydro. My space is small (walk-in closet) and I NEED to keep odor down to a minimum. Im thinking of one of these "grow cabinets" but I dont know yet.

I have read the cannabis grow bible by Greg Green. I gained a lot of insight from it. If you don't like reading, grab some DVDs. Jorge Cervantes has a great video series.

Mr Greens I Grow Chronic Video is informative. However, some of the information is questionable.

You need to understand the environmental conditions. There are many things to learn if you want to produce quality herb. I feel it is much easier to learn from videos and books if you are a n00b. This will cover all the basics, lights, air circulation, genetics, nutrients, grow room setups, all sorts of stuff.

BTW, LED lights is a very hot topic.

I want to tell you about DIY stuff. A lot of it is garbage and or very inefficient.
This part of the grow cost me quite a bit. My stuff was ghetto rigged , I built all kinds of stuff, light fixtures, carbon filters, odor boxes, fans, exhaust. And in the end it just didn't cut it and I had to purchase all new equipment.

Unless you are very crafty or mechanibus, then I would avoid this.
Just buy the proper equipment in the beginning and avoid the headache.
    It's well worth it.

DIY DWC buckets are excellent though.

I don't want people to get sucked into all the false claims. Cultivating marijuana can be simplified. Many new growers tend to over complicate things.

You gotta admit, you were somewhat pessimistic towards this forum and some of its members. I for one like it here and so do a
    lot of others.
I am sure NotKeyserSoze can make his own assumptions on his own:thumbsup:
