Help with getting my pH, new pen, sick plant?

Ok i finally got the pen. It is feeding day, but want to get a Ph of my RO. Should i skip feeding or just feed plain water, maybe Ph the water first then get a reading, then give nutes?

Man iv only grew once inside so the Ph thing is new to me. And my first indoor was done with ferted soil and only water was added, turned out great, but im stepping up this grow

    7.2 is tap water

I have Ph up and down to correct.

Any help would be great as i only have the next hour to get it done today:thumbsup:

    Thanks all:rasta:

Use your ph down and ajust to 6.7 or 6.8.. Use no nutes and water with the ph'd water.

Ok well we ran the tap 7.2 through the plant and the run off read 7.6. We mixed nutes and the reading was 6.5, so to bring down the ph should we add ph down to the 6.5 nute mix?

    Thanks man:rasta:

    Seeya,
Draw your water and let it sit for 24 hours. The ph should be a normal reading. Your good with that reading! Anything much higher than that will cause nute lock-out. Then you will see signs like necrosis would display. But that is not what it would really be the problem. It just can't absorb the nutes because of excessively high ph.

Thanks man:thumbsup:. So we added the nute mix 6.5 and the run off was 7.5! It only lowered it .1. And now my help is leaving so its going to be this way for 2 more days. Not sure if you have seen the plant in this section, but thought by starting this new thread would help me get a clue into the ph pen and how to use it. I got it yesterday, my hydro guy delivered it, saved me the shipping cost.

Think i should add plain ph'ed water at 6.2 or so to bring it down next chance i get? Damn, iv been trying to save this plant for months.

Yeah its an oakton and it said it was calibrated, it only said to soak in tap water for an hour, which we did. And no calibration came with it. I have some 4.0 calibration solution, but iv misplaced it:wtf:. But i have phed water at 7.01 and tested with this. It came out to 7.0, but this stuff is close to a year old, if it matters? I hope the pen is off, cuz 7.5 is high and this plant cant go through anymore stress. In less this has been the issue from the start. Il post a link to this so you can see the plant and what iv done thus far to try an help it.

Thing is its growing like crazy as of late, i think after i started the Earth Juice Grow along with Meta-K, which i found that i should only use every 4th feeding. I will adjust this after today and try and get the catalyst iv bought 3 weeks ago, but has not been delivered yet

Thanks Ga, i really never used one so im clueless, but this tester is to be a pretty good one? Plus i really want to keep this plant kicking to clone, i just bought a 5 site Daisy cloner. Cheap.

    Thanks man:rasta:

It could be that the pen is not calibrated as it should be. I would see no reason why you could not just use the water you have sitting for 24 hours mix your nutes as you do and change nothing.Try not to rely on that pen but more so with ya gut instinct.

Was the water you used to sok it for an hour ph'd?

No it said to just soak in tap water. It said the pen was already calibrated, which i thought to be odd. And when i do try and calibrate it, what should i calibrate it to?

Thanks man, this shit isn't how iv always done things. I have just looked at the plant and have figured things out, but i do have general knowledge how to grow plants/tress. But i want a better yield then last indoor and using these nutes i need to know the Ph, plus i just want to learn it, its important.

Il get some water in some jugs asap:rasta:
