Most carbon filters work best at a maximum of 190 cfm. It would choke your flow of air into your hood thus raising your temp.. Lower your lamp life and risk a fire. You need to not pull the room air through the hood,but pull air from outside the room into the hood and exhaust it.Hood never gets hot if vented for the whole flowering duration. Metal hold heat and if givien constant airflow you can lay your hand on top of the hood. While no airflow, you will feel the heat.

Not really sure if they are worth double price tag. I am leaning towards yes, however, I am uncertain of which is the best. Why?
