CDPHE Rejects old caregiver form and rules retroactively
I just got mail from the CDPHE rejecting my request to change to a certain caregiver.
This was sent in March, and I included my ID, and the proper form.
They reject the old form (the only one to exist at that point) and reject it because of no photo ID.
NOW, while I'd love to fight the good fight, when the legislation passed I sent in paperwork to drop my caregiver anyway, as I am a caregiver and that became against the rules.
Anyway, just a heads up. Your patients may be dropping out from underneath you. My old caregiver hasn't gotten any notification.copobo Reviewed by copobo on . (that is, they rejected the old form because there was no photo id of my caregiver, a rule that did not exist then)

Heh. I'm a caregiver (in the original sense, not MMJ) for an disabled elderly friend. His app got rejected twice. First, for not being notarized and second for using the wrong color ink. My own change of caregiver form was rejected because there was a mark about the size of a comma outside the box.
It's not so bad, really. They're sticklers for clerical regularity, but at least the requirements are lax enough so most any Coloradan can get on the registry.

March of this past year it was required for Caregivers to provide photo ID. I have had all my patients since at least Dec of last year, and when we sent in their paperwork, I had to provide my photo ID even then. I'm guessing maybe you were using a really really old form.

And oh - caregivers don't receive any notification, hence why it's a good reason to stay in touch on a regular with your patients. If they drop you, they are supposed to notify you but in reality they only need to notify the Registry. Long story short - don't piss off your patients can they can easily make your life hell.

Bureaucrats always tend to eventually become officious intermeddlers, probably to counteract the cognitive dissonance that comes with the realization that one is completely unnecessary.

that's odd. WHENEVER I need to do something with a patient or caregiver form, I go to the website and download the forms and instructions.
I'll take your word for it. I'm thinking if it was changed in March, it must have been the day after it was mailed or something.

Too bad that statement can't be reduced to fit a bumper sticker. Maybe we could have some made up that were 10' x 5' and slap them on the sides of semi trailers.
