Please Criticize my grow
Hey everyone this is my 1st attempt at growing. Im not using any nutes yet only Fox Farm Ocean Forest on 3 plants and im using scotts premium soil on 1 plant. Im about to start feeding them nutes but before I do I wanted to show the progress of the plants. They are 5 weeks old except for the 2 seedlings which are only 2 weeks. Dont hold back tell me what you think of the grow. :rasta:

So far, so good! Bagseed or some known strain? What lighting are you using? The more specifics you give about your grow, the better we can comment on it. But the plants look fine.

How often do you water them and how much? They look over watered or thirsty.

The big one is starting to yellow, so I'd give some nutes. If you want to use a cheap fert, that will probably be fine, but I usually recommend to people to use DynaGro 7-9-5. This has caused me to be accused of being a salesman of the product but hey, it's all in good fun. The fert works good, in my experience, for both soil and hydro. For a soil grow, I think it's just one half teaspoon in a gallon of water. The the back as the instructions are there. This fert is good to use because it has alot of the micronutes that plants need. I don't think you necessarily need to fert every time you water, but as it grows more, maybe give a little more. Also, you don't need to water all the time, just when your soil is looking dry. If you want a cheaper fert a local hardware store has some choices, I'm sure. The Schultz brand is very cheap. You can get more than enough liquid fert of 10-15-10 to last a long time. It just doesn't have all the micro nutes that the DynaGrow does. That's why you're going to pay more. The problem with it, however, is that you can't let it sit around for a year and expect it to be good. The calcium and phosphorus will bind together and form flakes on the bottom of the container. There are a ton of ferts to choose from but I've given two that I've worked with and have been good to me. The Schultz is just 7 drops in a gallon or quart of water, can't remember, but it's good too. These are synthetic ferts and if you want something more natural, then there are powder fert option or perhaps the Botanicare line of ferts. Don't go crazy and spend alot of money because pumping too much into your plants will cause problems and probably kill them. Best of luck to you. The community here can help you with questions, so don't be afraid to show up.
edit...
crap, I didn't see your earlier post about have the foxfarm ferts. It's one type of fert into a container with water, then add the other fert. Should be good to use. Just don't overdo it, eh?

If you do use the foxfarms it will lower your PH a big amount. Depending on your source waters PH, that could be a very bad thing. I would definitely suggest getting a PH pen and some PH up/down.
This is a cheap and good one that I use.
Milwaukee pH 600 pH tester pH meter 0-14 NEW - eBay (item 220614445206 end time Dec-26-10 16:19:10 PST)
I just store it in regular tap water and clean regularly. Calibration packets are also cheap.
