Card Renewal

Does anyone know that steps to getting your card renewed? Mine is coming up in February and considering the nightmare I went through just to get this card I need a good headstart.

Here is my problem. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2001 in Utah. I brought the paper work with me and that's how I got my card. Since my diagnosis was out-of-state and I need to get this renewed, will I have to see a psychiatrist in New Mexico or can I show the same paper work?
