You right, it is very hard to overwater using coco, it is one of the great things about growing in it.

Covering the pots will stop the algae growing. I had algae on my 1st grow and I made covers for the pots.


Here's a link to some pics of the covers I made, with cardboard and some tin foil (it would be better to use mylar if you have it as tin foil can create heat - although I had no issues with this).
