    Republican Double Speak (what's new)

Here we have a leader of the Republican party (#2) writing a $200 million dollar earmark into a bill 3 days after Republicans pledged to stop all earmarks. Typical.

Only three days after GOP senators and senators-elect renounced earmarks, Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, the No. 2 Senate Republican, got himself a whopping $200 million to settle an Arizona Indian tribe's water rights claim against the government.

Kyl slipped the measure into a larger bill sought by President Barack Obama and passed by the Senate on Friday to settle claims by black farmers and American Indians against the federal government.

PROMISES, PROMISES: GOP leader reaps $200 million
On a similar note, when are the Senate and Congressional Republicans going to give up the state-run health care benefits that they find so offensive (remarkably similar to Obamacare BTW)? They should opt in to the same system that everyone else uses, seeing as they are such strong advocates of the system... yeah right.

In virtually every other country in the industrialized world, health care is a given and has existed for quite some time. Only in a nation that contains places like Arkansas could such a basic building block of any good society be even subject to debate.

And look at the healthcare in those places dude......have you even been to any of these places.....EVER to recieve any type of medical treatment in your life?? Doubt it. Look at the massive ECONOMIC failure approaching just about every EU nation RIGHT NOW. Sorry, they can't afford all the welfare babies in their own tiny ass little nations the size of most of our STATES. Irelands on the brink....Spain is coming soon. Do you even watch the news homie?? Its like you truly live on another planet sometimes. Kinda like your "Obama wasn't liberal enough statement." Truly unreal......you guys woulda lost more than the 62 seats you already did. Funny, funny. And THEN pick the same loony idiot Nancy Pelosi to lead your out of touch and out of step party. NICE:thumbsup:

Need a Kidney in England? Your gonna WAIT over as year if you even live that long anyway....colon cancer. 9 MONTHS to even start a treatment plan.....my uncle flew to Chicago from London to get his.

Don't forget Texass where over 25% of the residents don't have any health insurance. That cesspool of a state just busted Willie Nelson again, like they don't have anything better to do. And the sewage from Texas continues to seep into this forum.

I hate to revive this (been away for a while), but WOW. Holy WOW. I take it you make over a hundred grand a year to make a bold statement like that

Let's strip away all the rhetoric and acknowledge that it comes down to this: under private health care, the wealthy get top-notch treatment while the poor are out in the street. It's that simple--and to Islandborn's critique of Europe, socialist countries like Denmark and Finland (which I HAVE been to, by the way) are good, healthy, humane societies where everyone gets treated whatever their level of income (Denmark's minimum wage is about the equivilent of 18 bucks an hour, by the way), so put aside the "my country, right or wrong" mentality and maybe consider other options. 'Have you ever been to those countries?'....yes, I live in one, and have been to many. The standard of living in the U.S. is among the lowest in the industrialized world, bub.

cannabis, sorry about that, I was just kidding around, taking aim back at your remark about one of my neighboring States, which struck me as really random so I shot back. not very nice of me.

but since you did ask, no I make under 100K but I do alright and I have always had great health care paid for by my employer for the simple the fact that I have always worked very hard every single day and do outstanding work, and therefore deserve it. (edit: that is, I deserve to have my employer pay for it. that is not to say those that can't work don't deserve good health care, too) I was just remarking about my own personal experience with our health care system.

I'm not knocking others health care, I'm sure you have a good one, too, if you are happy with it. I really have no interest in getting in this debate. I'll let Island take over from here.
