Well, Id like to put these girls into flower already, but I want to get this problem fixed first. The temps around these parts have dropped and I have been doing my best not to let them drop below 65. These girls were brought home and put into soil on 10/09/10. After the last post, I flushed, let dry, then transplanted into 5 gallon containers. I also cut my nute strength back almost 3/4.

Something I noticed is that the new growth tips turn light yellow/burnt pretty quickly.

Should I flush these girls already since my outgoing pH is 7.1? If so, how do I avoid the stress caused by overwatering?

PIX 1&2 ARE SUPER SILVER SOUR DIESEL HAZE, PIX 3-5 ARE NYC DIESEL

    Thanks,

    UPDATE...PLANTS STILL YELLOWING

Flush those ladies, my friend. If the pH is 6.3 IN/ 7.1 OUT that gives you a soil pH of approximately 7.7-7.9. According to the chart below and by the looks of your plants, several nutrients are being locked out. 6.5-6.8 is the ideal soil pH.

For the flush, you'll want to flush with a volume of water equivalent to 3 times the volume of soil in your pot (15 gals in your case). Do this with fresh pH'd water. pH of the flush water should be 5.75 in your case of alkaline pH. To avoid stress, the pH of the flush water shouldn't be any more than 1 point plus/minus the optimal range, which is 6.5-6.8. Be sure to NOT over-flow the pot with flush water; add it a little at a time, at a rate proportional to the run-off coming out the other end. I know, it's time-consuming but flooding the plant will compact your soil and separate the perlite out, which is a pain in the ass.

Hope this helps, keep us updated!

    UPDATE...PLANTS STILL YELLOWING

I suppose then, that the soil I am using is the problem, to acidic. I just put these girls into these fresh pots of soil last week. I think they have had one feeding of 6.5 pH'd nutes. Guess thats what you get for half-assing it and buying soil at the hole in the wall hardware store. Live and learn!!

    UPDATE...PLANTS STILL YELLOWING

It happens, but that's the learning process. I'd recommend utilizing your pH pen and test the soil runoff prior to planting or transplanting. This way, there's no guessing.

    UPDATE...PLANTS STILL YELLOWING

do you mean test the runoff of a pot filled with soil, before you introduce the plant? Thats a good idea...kinda like washing your soil! I have been using tap water that I let sit out for about 24 hrs to allow any chlorine to evap. Unfortunatley I dont have a 15 gallon container...the largest I have is a 2 gallon water jug. Hopefully I dont create bigger probs by not letting the chlorine evap.

    Thanks for your help!
