    ppm and ph rising

I am in an ebb & grow 55 gal res. mid vegetative stage. My ppm is 1200 which includes my water which is 200. So my nute ppm is 1000. I am using House and Garden nutes my ph goes from 5.8 to 6.8 or 7.0 and my ppm goes up about 100-200 per day . What is going on?

I haven't used ebb and flow but the only thing I can think of would be to give it some time and see if there's a bad effect on a plant. Then you have a problem. As it is, this may not be an issue. but then I don't ebb and flow, just my two cents. your results will depend on any changes you make, however. if none are made, perhaps there's something natural that you've overlooked.

Depending on how fast they are drinking, sounds to me like you are overnuted. You still have to count your 200 so your ppm is 1400 total. I dont get that high in an aggressive flower. Drop ppm down to about 700-800 and things will be different. You might also be seeing slower growth because of this.

Ok thanks Tiny. My plants are showing signs of slow growth and nute burn. I will empty and refill res. with less nutes. I have not changed res. on a weekly basis, trying to go bi-weekly. Tiny thanks for the info on ppm. I didn't know you count your waters ppm. I thought Marty was my mentor, well Tiny is up there in my book now. Thanks Bro!!! I just checked my ppm are up to 1300 and ph 6.7 unreal. ppm rose 200 in one day ph jumped from 5.8 to 6.7

It's because the plants are taking the water only and not nutes with it.
There is no way I could replace Marty or anyone else really. I just try to help here and there.

Hey Tiny, say your plant is taking the water only and none of the nutrients with it. Do you have any idea why that is and how to overcome that obstacle?

Thanks a lot, any kind of help is very much appreciated!

ODing your girls. back off to 1/4 strength nuits for a few days.

the roots are a semipermeable membrain and there is an Ion exchange happening at the surface. if the concentration on one side is to different than the other only H2O passes.

far to technecial for me but that the general idea
