    fluorescent lights

    i have those bulbs and i use them they come in different colour codes
    red for flower and blue for root growth
    no heat of them and light fittings can be got at local hardware shop
    reflector can be got at a hardware shop
    it is just where ya buy them they come in 125,150,200,250
    shop around as i havent seen any about in a shop that comes near internet price
    i am using one for a re-veg which seems to be working
    change all the lights in ur house to the cfl's and wont notice the difference in ur esb bill

    thanks for the input lad when you say blue is for root growth is that veg? and would yse the red to flower?

    You can get them as follows.................
    Eco light blue for grow/veg in 125 watt 45, 200 watt 65, 250 watt 85 euro,s
    Eco light red for bloom/flower in 125 watt 45, 200 w 65, 250 w 85 euro,s
    Eco light purple for veg/flower in 125 watt 50, 200 w 70, 220 w 75, 250 w 90 euro,s. I would get the purple as there only a extra 5 euro,s and can use them for veg and flowering i am going to get one myself hope this help,s

    deeproots nice one for the help man, i bought a ballast to hold 4 2 foot flor's only cost me 15 quid but dnt no were to get the proper flor's for it, can you tell me were can i get the cfl's and all the stuff to get it working. im sorry for asking so many questions but i dont want to mess it up yeno but thanks again lad ur on my xmas card list

    Blue for root growth? No. Red for root growth. Red is responsible for photomorphogenesis and structure production. Blue is primarily responsible for bulk mass production.

    iv seen pics on here ppl using cfl's in wat looks like a normal socket scrwed to a bit of wood......im just trying to get my setup going using cfl's or flor's to veg. im starting from seed and trying to take on board what everyone is saying you could say im a bit confused. is it 3 fdifferent colors i need? a bulb for seedling, one to veg and one to flower?

    hey bud, the wood is just a bracket to hold the bulb fitting.ballast is in the base of the bulb..
    only two color's blue for seedlings and veg red for flowering
    with the cfl's for flowering you wont get much back for ya time and effort hps is the way to go.. just a thought mate.. have a read of this..
