Was the pot it's in the last one you filled with soil?
Turn it upside down and pull it out of it's pot and look at it's root structure. Don't be afraid to wash the soil out of the root system so that you can get a good look at them.
-Are they balled up in a little spot and not extended throughout the pot, i.e. when you take the pot off, does half of the dirt stay stuck in the bottom of the pot with no roots in it at all?

-if you take the pot off and the roots are a healthy white growing thickly throughout the soil, somewhat heavier at the bottom; put the pot back on the root ball, and set it back in it's floodpan, and dump a little bit of water on it. What I'm thinking is going on isn't it.

I think roots, man.

High mate, the roots may have got cold but they are in good shape, i checked them out and they look pretty normal. I think they would find it hard to get rootbound considering their size. I might top them up with a bit of soil though so they feel like they got a bit of extra space...cheers
