AroMed 4.0

Hi vaporists! I have no connection with AroMed and this is a completely unbiased review from a user of the device.

This is a superb choice for the medical user or serious vaporist imo. This is the 4th version of the unit that has now been available for over 10 years! The quality is medical grade so no problems there. Straight away you can tell it's made to last, and small things like glass mouthpieces are a nice touch.

The heating element is an energy saving ultraviolet-free halogen light bulb which sits above the herb chamber. The bulbs metals are completely coated in glass so no issue there, and the bulb is controlled by a processor thats able to maintain the herb chamber very precisely! The bulb is easy and cheap to replace, and the heat radiating from above helps conserve the herb between draws, adds to efficiency, and is also part of the reason the taste is so amazing.

I've used many vaporisers including the volcano, Extreme Q and Purple Days and none come close imo. I ran a test with a piece of herb and a piece of resin. Both were approx 0.1g. The herb produced 24 satisfying hits @ 195C (383F) and the resin produced 29 satisfying hits. The efficiency when used correctly is astounding! Because of the heating design the temps can be altered in seconds. You can literally take one draw at 195C and a few seconds later take one at 160C, great concept!

This product was designed as a medical apparatus. When used in hospitals many different people could be using the unit so it had to be easy to clean and maintain. The glass and whip is completely seperate and can be easily steralized. The heating elements are very easily obtainable and easy to fit. Plus the heat is so far from the electrics they go on forever. All these things are massive advantages for the personal user as well.

The water filter takes out any small particles that you could be inhaling from many other vaporizers and also helps make for the smooth taste.

The asthetics is actually a plus to me. I want to be seen as medicating when im using the vaporizer, not sucking on a bong.

This unit is no toy, it's a serious piece of equipment. It wont appeal to many stoners im sure, but if your looking for a high end unit that is super reliable, super efficient, super clean, and super tasty, you wont go wrong with this!

I have been unable to find one serious USER issue in the 10+ years this has been available! The only slight problems have been fragile glass and user error.

The negatives. There is a learning curve to this unit, so you may need to experiment a little to figure out the best techniques. Setting it up can be a little awkward to begin with, and the glass is fragile.
