HEEEELP!!
Only completed a couple of single plant grows myself, but this works for me (after completely ruining 3 plants)
I use a built in cupboard about 3ft by 3ft area lined with cheap kitchen foil, shiny side out
For lights I use 8x23W cfl's (compact fluorescent lights) you know the ones, they fit a standard light bulb socket. Tesco have been selling them recently for 10p each!!! I use them right the way through to harvest (Certainly much better options out there but these have the benefit of being cheap.) Also they produce little heat so the foil on the walls won't cook your baby. Keep the lights about 6 inches from the top of the plant.
I got a cheap desk fan from Argos that I use to circulate the air - running for 15mins every hour
My cupboard is large enough that with only one plant I don't need to extract air from it - Yet! But I'm keeping an eye on it
I grow in potting compost & perlite. Go to any garden centre and get a bag of good quality general purpose compost. Don't bother with the ones with added water retention or the like, and certainly DON'T get ericaceous compost. Levington is a good brand. While you are there buy a bag of perlite....little white granules that look a bit like polystyrene beads. Make your planting medium 20% perlite (ie. mix 1 measure of perlite with 4 measures of compost in a seperate container before you fill your flower pot)
By 3 flower pots.....
1 the smallest you can find to sow your seed in
1 about 6 inches across at the top to transplant into
1 about 12 inches across to transplant into before you switch your lights to 12/12 for flower
If you transplant every time you see roots appearing at the holes at the bottom of the pot, you won't need to feed until a couple of weeks into flower. I like this because underfeeding is prefferable to over feeding (which is how I have killed previous plants). When it comes to feeding in flower, I use half strength 'tomorite'
There are certainly much better and more productive set ups you can use, but this seems to work.
This works for me....but as the other guys say....READ.....until I started doing that I was just a cannabis killer.
One final thing.....go to a reputable seed supplier. DON'T use cannabisseeds.com
Attitude and nirvana have a good reputation on these forums and I will try those next time.
There's a photo of my setup below.
Good luck
