You will probably make some mistakes (as I did at first) but ya learn from them.

Start here
http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-gro...-dankness.html
That will give you a great rundown on what you need to know. Theres also a sticky in indoor growing about noobs guide to growroom setup that explains how to build a room.
Goodluck!

Start by reading the stickies in my signature below. Then read some more. Get yourself the Indoor/Outdoor Medical Growers Bible by Jorges Cervantes. You can probably find it as a torrent somewhere. Use that as a reference. Read some more as you dial in your ideas. Then post up questions. We'll all pitch in to help once you've armed yourself with some knowledge. It's like anything else, it just needs a little effort. BTW, you can grow outdoors in the UK if you use the right strain and get the timing right. I have a friend who grew a bunch of stunners in Inverness - Inverness! OK he started them in doors and moved them outdoors in mid June, but still.

Kind of a vauge ?. But i'll try my best.
For noobs I most certainly suggest starting with soil (my weak spot).
Myself I stared with Hydroponics. <------Dont
1 400 watt switchable MH HPS ballast.
1 400 watt Metal Halide bulb (Blue spectrum)
1 400 watt High Pressure Sodium bulb (Red spectrum)
start with a 1 pint planter then after about 2 week transplant into 1 gallon or 3.88 Liter Planter.
......uhhhh, you need about 1 gallon of soil to each foot of growth when transplanting.
For you first grow you probably dont need to use any nutes but if you want to I would suggest Botanicare nutes.
Botanicare
Botanicare pure blend Grow
Botanicare pure blend Flower
Liquid Karma
Sweet Raw (For gods sake flush your plants if you use this)
Super Thrive
Another nessesity for growing indoors is space, lots of it.
Don't veg your plants too long for when they flower they can double or even triple their size which can lead to overcrowding and your end result will be ditch weed due to lack of light.
Keep you grow room as clean as possible and fliter your vents. You dont want those pests from outside. No matter where you live they are there.

That's a lot of bulbs for one plant, though I'm guessing it will quickly become two or three
Consider using a Ceramic Metal Halide for the entire grow. Made by Phillips. You can learn about them here: Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs but many supply shops sell them. If you are really only going to grow one plant then a 250w light will do.

HEEEELP!!
Only completed a couple of single plant grows myself, but this works for me (after completely ruining 3 plants)
I use a built in cupboard about 3ft by 3ft area lined with cheap kitchen foil, shiny side out
For lights I use 8x23W cfl's (compact fluorescent lights) you know the ones, they fit a standard light bulb socket. Tesco have been selling them recently for 10p each!!! I use them right the way through to harvest (Certainly much better options out there but these have the benefit of being cheap.) Also they produce little heat so the foil on the walls won't cook your baby. Keep the lights about 6 inches from the top of the plant.
I got a cheap desk fan from Argos that I use to circulate the air - running for 15mins every hour
My cupboard is large enough that with only one plant I don't need to extract air from it - Yet! But I'm keeping an eye on it
I grow in potting compost & perlite. Go to any garden centre and get a bag of good quality general purpose compost. Don't bother with the ones with added water retention or the like, and certainly DON'T get ericaceous compost. Levington is a good brand. While you are there buy a bag of perlite....little white granules that look a bit like polystyrene beads. Make your planting medium 20% perlite (ie. mix 1 measure of perlite with 4 measures of compost in a seperate container before you fill your flower pot)
By 3 flower pots.....
1 the smallest you can find to sow your seed in
1 about 6 inches across at the top to transplant into
1 about 12 inches across to transplant into before you switch your lights to 12/12 for flower
If you transplant every time you see roots appearing at the holes at the bottom of the pot, you won't need to feed until a couple of weeks into flower. I like this because underfeeding is prefferable to over feeding (which is how I have killed previous plants). When it comes to feeding in flower, I use half strength 'tomorite'
There are certainly much better and more productive set ups you can use, but this seems to work.
This works for me....but as the other guys say....READ.....until I started doing that I was just a cannabis killer.
One final thing.....go to a reputable seed supplier. DON'T use cannabisseeds.com
Attitude and nirvana have a good reputation on these forums and I will try those next time.
There's a photo of my setup below.
Good luck
