    Should i 24/7 light for routing seed

    Please please help

    seeds are female in propagator and has 400 veg lamp on the baby.

    Should i get the lamp going and leave it on to grow the roots or what??

    Help is much appreciated..

    If they haven't sprouted yet, they don't need light. All the energy is inside the seed/cotyledons, so it can start on its own.

    That 400w is going to be overkill for a new seedling - I would start it off on CFLs for at least a week. As soon as you see the seedling pop out, it's time for light.

    They are about 2" tall now and in "root it" pods, Should i give them full light now? as in 20/4 0r 24/0 or 18/6 ??

    Any true leaves yet?

    There's a lot of debate over 24/0 vs. 18/6, but I choose 18/6

    -saves on the energy bill
    -dark period is good to cool the room if you are running hot
    -easier to fall asleep at night

    I just had a look this morning,one has died but there is still a few kicking around,
    there looks to be 4 leaves all be it very small,i took temp and room was down so i`ve turned off fan for a while to get temp back up,i`ll try and get some pics up today,the root it pods seem to still be soaking,that cant be good.
